I didn't even think of that (and that's the #1 primary use case)...is that the case even if you lift the body to Highest in Off-Road? I suppose if you can't fit an XL jack underneath, it may also be hard to fit a block underneath the bottle jack too.
I didn't have a regular jack puck until recently, so I couldn't try (and yes, the vehicle was in highest off-road mode).

Main point: Continue to carry the scissor jack, despite the ridicule directed at it (but don't crawl under the vehicle, of course!).

Thanks to everyone for their information. All the info is good. It looks like I'll be getting a regular one and an XL. I'll also be using the bottle jack. I've had scissor jacks in the past and haven't had a good experience. Although it was in Chicago in the winter, the problem was reversed. Now, in Arizona, the problem is reversed.
Looks like good advice from previous responses, I personally didn't get the XL because stacked pucks do nearly the same thing, but XL + 4 reg pucks is even more height adjustment. I do recommend getting your pucks in a padded case; they are heavy chunks of metal that I'm glad are not banging around loose or in a bag. I would consider where you're expecting to use them, you may want to do a test lift front and back in your terrain before you are 80 miles into the backcountry and realize something else is needed. You may want a traction board, wood planks, or those RV leveling blocks for the desert as a lift base, where you might be in sand. My concern is a flat on a rough 10-15% grade, something I haven't personally tested, but I have it on my list to see how challenging it will be and whether the jack tips over at those angles. My jacks have rubber booties on the bottom, but it's unclear if this will add much value.

I bought these--they work well.

We love the Rivian Forums community and are grateful for all the support—whether through purchases, feedback, or simply spreading the word. While it’s frustrating to see blatant copies, we’re proud of what we’ve built and excited about what’s ahead.

Others now use magnets and rubber caps—some even copied our traction dot pattern exactly on the caps. But they haven’t cracked our ultra-sticky, low-durometer rubber (yet). We traced the knockoffs to a couple of Amazon returns—so be it. You can’t patent a magnetic puck, but we continue to innovate where it counts.

People are free to buy from wherever they like. We’re still Amazon’s #1 seller, a paid forum sponsor, and with over 24,000 units sold, the response speaks volumes.

The XL puck was designed for my own truck—to lift the rear without stacking. Others wanted it too, so we made it available. My wife and I each carry a full kit and XL with a Big Red 10T jack. Peace of mind matters.

Picture below is from Rivian Field Service, who did a pre-emptive 12V battery and knuckle tightening on my wifes R1S. Look what I spotted in the slide out trey! ;) Even Rivian knows.

(this sentence added for clarity) I was telling the service tech about jack pucks and he laughed and said, "come take a look! Far easier to use than ours."

This is helpful. Do you have a recommended jack pad and spare tire tool kit as well?

We both carry a tire plug kit, and I carry the larger RV jack pad below. My wife's R1S has the smaller yellow RV jack pad (pictured), but it can deform slightly under load. Works in a pinch, but it isn't pretty.

Road Warrior RV Jack Pad 2" Thick
Camco Jack Pad (deforms a bit under load)
Tire Plug Kit (sure there are better ones, but it has worked twice)

Ok I’m CAF. Just got my 2025 R1T (trimotor if it matters).

Do I need the extended jack puts or the regular size?

Do I need jack plugs if I use the Rivian scissor jack or regular floor jack?

Owner's guide

Summary: if you got a Rivian tire change kit kit, it comes everything you need. If you're using your own jack(s), you need jack puck(s). Extended or regular is a longer conversation depending on your jack and situation.
