Can you implement temperature dependent heated steering wheel?

I want the heated steering wheel to automatically come on when its cold out.

Or even just have it set to time of the year. If its winter then turn on the heated steering wheel.

Sincerely - The cookie monster with no blood flow left in his body.

@EV Play - Alex - I'm excited to have another one of your products (just ordered). Like you, there are two of us who share the Rivian - I'm guessing we both will have to have the Auto-Mate app on our phones. That then, brings up some questions:
  • Do we both have to have the same automations or do we each have separate settings based on what we do in the app?
  • While different settings/automations per person sounds great, which takes precedence when we're both in the front seat with our phones?
That, actually, was our biggest issue with EVPlay. It would always connect to my wife's phone when we were both driving and getting it to swap to me (because she wanted to use her phone as a passenger) was just a hassle. I finally went wired instead of using the wireless connection.

Me luv cookies too!

I could certainly implement weather-based automations when you entered the vehicle, however, they couldn't be run ahead of time -- meaning when the vehicle is locked/sleeping as the USB-C ports power down and the screen gives way to gear guard.

It would be a similar dilemma - how would the device know which phone to prioritize? However, there is a feature that allows you to run an automation based on distance to the remote. Meaning, whoever gets closest to the device first, wins. Granted, if you both get into the vehicle at the same time it's going to have trouble figuring that out if it's mounted in your center console. However, the device is ~1.5" square - you could easily run it over to the left side of the steering wheel, under or behind the dash, so that whoever gets in the driver side door and sits down, would be prioritized. Thinking out loud, of course.

is it just me? https://evplay.io/ isn't responding. ICMP fails, traceroute can find and IP, but none of my browsers seem to be able to load an http or https page. Is this thing so good we broke the server already? ;)

Wow, reading this post and learning what it can do, I have a few logic situations that might be very convenient to seriously consider this device. But then I'm thinking it must be quite expensive? $65 is a very fair and attractive price. I'm in!

I'm curious if this "solves" the issue people have when sleeping in the Rivian where they can't adjust the lighting without stretching to the infotainment screen in the front. If so, this will account for a lot of sales judging by how often I've read the complaint.

Here are the scripts I'm hoping to implement:
  • Open the garage door when I enter the alley from either entrance
  • Go to Carwash mode when I pull into the car wash
  • Activate Pet Mode when I pull into the grocery store lot
  • Temperature up or down 1 degree for when I have EVPlay on the screen
I'm sure others will come in time - I'm really looking forward to this!

All seem doable! For sleeping in the back, your phone could act as a "remote" to control the front screen features - including lighting.

Can you do that? If no, then neither can it. Also, it doesn't 'see' the status of the vehicle, it only emulates finger presses on the screen.
I think the other person means center console switching to map not thr driver display. Atleast that’s how I read it

Never tried this but can you not do it from the 2nd row screen?

Great product though! Lot of potential for updates and hardware (Auto-Mate) upgrades.

Good luck!

Thanks and absolutely! Looking forward to seeing what the community comes up with once they start poking around. I'm setting up a section on our Forum as we speak where folks can share their automations as the app has an import/export feature.
