I'm excited to introduce the EV Play Auto-Mate, a brand new product that allows you to automate Rivian® center-screen functions based on triggers such as vehicle speed, location, and when you enter or exit the vehicle. The product consists of an iOS and Android app that runs on your phone, as well as small hardware device which plugs into your center console USB port:

Rivian R1T R1S Introducing EV Play "Auto-Mate" for Rivian® -- automate your center-screen functions EV-Play-Auto-Mate-1

You can run the included automations, or create your very own. For example:

1) Gen 1 owners can turn on Conserve Mode automatically when they get on the highway, then switch back into All-Purpose mode as soon as they exit the highway.

2) Open up your garage door and/or charge port when you get home, and close it when you leave.

3) Choose a specific driver profile once you enter the vehicle without having to unlock it (great for those that share vehicles with their family).

4) Go even further with driver profiles by additionally setting ride height, feel and brake regen level.

...plus countless other customizations. If the option is available on your center screen, chances are you can Auto-Mate it! This is a standalone product compatible with R1 Gen 1 and Gen 2 vehicles, and you don't have to own a Rivian EV Play to use it.

For more information and/or to order one, click here. Here's a quick intro video as well:

It looks neat, and it may be a way to effectively bypass some of the stupid forced settings like AP mode after a sleep. I park in a low parking garage at work, and when I enter the garage, I set the suspension to lowest to avoid hitting things hanging from the ceiling. When I drive home, I have to remember to go back to sport mode since the truck resets to AP, then I put it back up to standard when I exit the garage. When I go to leave every morning I have to set it back to sport mode again.

Since it seems like the device just automates taps, I wonder about it getting out of sync with the UI when it lags, or worse, when it changes, forcing you to redo your macros.

The price is right though. So many Rivian accessories are overpriced.

Right, you could have Auto-Mate lower ride height once you got within say 100 feet of your garage, then raise it back up when you left the garage. For laggy UI, I should probably implement the ability to add pauses at the start of, and in between, steps. Since your specific use case would be mission critical to fire - otherwise you can kiss your shark fin goodbye - perhaps some sort of audible sound emitted by the app, or the last step involving unlocking your doors before entering the garage, would be a good indicator you are safe to proceed.

It seems like you actually see the taps occurring, so I could see it change to sport mode. With that in mind, I don't think there'd be the need for the app to make sound, but maybe someone would want that.

I have experimented with the new kneel mode activation, but that seems less reliable at keeping the ride height in kneel mode when the truck comes out of a sleep than just changing the ride height manually.

Adding pauses could be a good option for reliability at the expense of the overall macro taking longer.

You could finally have geolocated garage door opening like Tesla has had for many years.

If this can be applied to other vehicles' UI, it could automate away a lot of the new nags that come up after each drive like lane keep assist, speed limit warnings, and auto start/stop.

Would this allow you to start/stop charging at a particular time based on location, essentially allowing you to add multiple "home" locations?

Yes, I believe so. You could likely set up multiple location based automations that clicks into the energy menu and sets the schedule for the respective location.

Does this plug into either USB port in the center console? I believe the gear guard USB drive takes the left side one. Also, the Rivian brand center console tray sits pretty close to those ports--does this small box device conflict with the bottom tray?

Another great product, Alex!
Can't wait to have it.

Would add a couple off-the-top-of-my-head ideas:
- allow me to combine folding mirrors with carwash mode
- connectivity to IFTT or other automation frameworks to make it easier to arm/disarm my home security when my Rivy leaves or comes home.
- provide the long-desired feature to turn off Bluetooth lock/unlock only while at home

All the best!

Please assure us that this is 100% compatible with the EVPLAY device.

Is the USB just for power or does it change the vehicle settings over USB? My center console USB ports are occupied with my Gear Guard drive and a phone charging cable.

How about going into car wash mode automatically at the car wash!

Wow, I love this concept, but I wonder how hacky it will appear.

Having an automation to switch to Conserve when hitting 70mph and switch back to AP at 0mph would be great.

Or to automatically activate the front camera when I approach home.

For me, the biggest thing would be for the center console to switch to map view automatically whenever UHF is activated, since UHF annoyingly takes over the driver display map view.

It looks to emulate an HID (MOUSE) via USB.

Not possible with this device. It can only input what your finger can. If you can't change the setting, neither can it, and the Autonomy View is mandatory with UHF or HA.
