A V8 engine in 1994 pushed out 220 HP and got 15 MPG.

The 4 banger in my wife's 2019 Edge pushes out 250 HP and gets 28 MPG.

What you are describing is essentially natural evolution of any technology and shouldn't have too much effect on your "now" decisions.

OP, you have to make the call. Each of us have different needs and risk tolerances. I like to live my life in the present and don't worry too much about the future. You do you.

I have a friend who is caught in this paralysis by analysis loop and has been for years. This past week I did the math for him on what he would have saved if he had just done it years ago and the numbers were pretty damn high.

What color is best? That's easy! The one my sweet spouse likes!

In our case, that was Glacier White for the R1S and Rivian Blue for the R1T.

We both like "safety colors" that stand out against most backgrounds and don't blend into anything. Rivian's automatic lighting options make the vehicle pretty visible regardless of color.

I tried to convince her that Compass Yellow would be the safest color. Good luck with that. We have the colors that please her, and I couldn't be happier.

Best to all!
