I've had an issue with automatic profile switching that's been driving me nuts since I first got my R1S back in September. I have a Galaxy S23+ and my BF has a Pixel 9 Pro. Almost every single time he's with me, my R1S chooses his profile instead of mine. It doesn't matter where he is, if he's anywhere in the vicinity with his phone it switches to his profile. I've had it happen with him already sitting in the passenger's seat, outside of the passenger side, or sometimes even around back putting the dog in the cargo area.

I believe it's supposed to choose automatically based on who's phone is closest to the driver's door when you get in, but that doesn't seem to work AT ALL. The only thing I can think if is that maybe the Pixel has stronger BT gain than my Galaxy. All I know is it drives me INSANE since he's "passenger princess" 90% of the time, yet it chooses his profile 90% of the time.

When he's NOT in the vicinity it has no problem staying on my profile. Has anyone else experienced this? Any workarounds, if so? The only thing I can think of is just deleting his phone key

Did you ever find a solution? Drives me nuts. My wife and I are often together and I drive 95% of the time. The truck always chooses her. I change my driver profile and also have to change the infotainment to me cause it often doesn’t change along with the driver profiles

Turned the phone unlock function off and went to the key fob for a while. It’s marginally better with driver profiles but the key fob has horrible range and the buttons are hard to see

love the truck, had it for year and a half, but hate the whole getting into it ordeal. Our Tesla was able to do this much better, eight years ago.

Frustrating that it just can’t be turned off.

Mine does the same. I think it has to do more with who gets to the car first instead of who is closest to the driver door. Would love to be able to have the option to always default to me and have to manually change to someone else's profile.

Now that we both have he same phone, it messes up our profiles much less frequently. It still happens, but not anywhere near as often

I find this frustrating to, but have just ignored it. I can literally be the only person in the vehicle, and it doesn't recognize me as the driver (even though the phone is what I am using to unlock/drive). Would love for this to work too.
