Someone made a neat composite image of the R1S back end on an R1T. Looked suburban-esque. Seems like a straightforward thing for rivisn to do at some point. Bigger battery would fit too.

I keep flip flopping between the 21s and 22s. I mainly care about the look and cost. IMO 21" wheels are the best fit on a suv this size.

If I go with 21s, planning on taking off the hub cap and getting them powder coated satin or glossy black. Wish they had a similar concave design to them like the 22s

Currently I have my config set with 22s that I will later get powder coated black since its much cheaper.

If it is anywhere near new model Tahoe / Expedition leg drop, comfort I’ll be thrilled. They both offer decent leg drop in the new models in the 3rd row. From what I’ve seen the Rivian’s 3rd row seat is much closer to the floor with less drop. Having one’s knees in their is chest is the worst part of a tight 3rd row. I’d take more leg drop with less legroom than the other way around.

Having owned Suburbans, it doesn't sound much different from that 3rd row. It's fine for kids. I'm 6-3 and sat back there a few times to try it out. It's ok for short hauls for taller adults. 3rd row seat position (and therefore leg room) is somewhat dictated by the wheel base. It pretty much has to sit over top the rear axle or rear motors. 3 row vehicles are always design challenged and compromised.

I wonder if Motor Trend will give the R1S the Car of the Year after giving the R1T Truck of the Year. That would be wild.

I wouldn’t be surprised, but I also hope they also consider something more affordable. I could be wrong but I’m thinking the R1T got Truck of the Year based on pre-3/1 pricing.
