This doesn't compare to the R3X. First, that Hyundai is a concept - who knows whether it will be produced and what it will end up like if it is produced. R3X is going to be produced, and although there will be some differences to what we've seen so far I think what we get will be pretty close to what we've been shown.

Second, that Hyundai is big. It's taller than the guy - this is more like 4Runner size. WAY bigger than the R3X. And look at how the wheels are pushed out - clearly they're aiming at an entirely different market than the R3X.

Third, R3X is more of a hot-hatch road or rally vehicle, not a specialized rock-climber.

I have nothing against this vehicle, and it would be cool to see it actually come into production, but I don't think it's a R3X competitor in any way. I for one would love to have an R3X (yes, I've seen one in person) but I don't have much interest in this Hyundai because that's not the sort of capability I'm looking for. I just don't think they're comparable.

It's like Hyundai looked at the R3X and decided "Let's make it taller, but in the weirdest way possible".

Either that or the dude pictured is short as all hell.
