Here is an update. Got back from my local certified Rivian collision center. They just got their certification. I am the first Rivian they would be (potentially) working on.
I have to wait for insurance estimate. If they don’t total it then they will pull all body pieces off and give a new estimate. At that point it may be totaled or fixable.
we will see

If that is what happened, then the axle took some of the force. Which means the rear drive unit, mounting points and frame. So most likely totaled. At which point, video evidence would only provide relief for State Farm since they’d potentially have someone to pursue to recover whatever payout they give to OP. From OP’s end, this wouldn’t make much difference.
Agreed, but it's just not right to let someone who totaled your $80k vehicle get off scott-free!

If you haven't already, perhaps reach out to Rivian and see if there's any video evidence they can retrieve?

Good call. Will def do that.
I did call the restaurant that was right there and they have no cameras facing the road where I was and they had no deliveries that morn. So it wasn’t one of their trucks.
it’s tough. A 2 hour window in a city where hundreds of cars/trucks went by

Keep in mind that you are entitled to hire your own private Adjuster and have him/her and create an estimate in case your ins. co gives you the BS treatment. I had to do that many years ago and it worked to my advantage where the ins. co wanted to cobble together a Frankenstein fix using used/refurbished parts, etc.. but my Adjuster was able to get the vehicle totaled.

Also, if your estimate is on the borderline of total or not, you can voice your preference. Years ago the adjuster asked me exactly this when there was flood damage, and he helped push it to the total territory after I told him I’d prefer that.

And that's exactly what you can communicate to a private Adjuster if you need to go that route. It's just another tool at your disposal...

Just in case anyone was watching this or wondering. Final estimate was $35,700. State Farm is calling it a total loss. I am not sure the amount they are going to give me yet but I am guessing mid to high 40’s. It was an early Vin LE 22 with 45000 miles. Practically perfect condition (was in before the accident).
I am already looking for my new ride. Thinking of a gen 2 R1S but we will see what is out there.
Thx all!!!

Without a doubt, totaled, based on the history of damaged vehicles we have seen on the forums here, and the amount of damage.

I can see a crease at the C pillar, where it turns horizontal. Which means the entire side panel has to be replaced, and we still have not accounted for under damage that we cant see.

Assume it will be totaled. I know two people whose F-150 Lightnings were recently declared totaled for less.

If you're *VERY* lucky, the damage will only be on the body panels and it will be repairable. But if anything tweaked the frame even a little bit, that's going to be a total loss.

The Count and Countess were recently in an accident where her subie was totaled; all air bags went off. Driver went through a stop sign at 50 MPH in town. we walked away. SF totaled it based on pictures alone.

The night of the accident The Count wasted countless staff hours gathering valuation data (carmax, etc) only to have SF declare a total loss and offer about $1000 more than he was prepared to argue for. They got paid out electronically 12 days after the accident.

I hope your SF experience is as good.

BTW, the car sold at auction for about 5k (netted by SF no less so no wonder why they had no problem making us whole as they are also going after the other driver's insurance (GEICO (which by the way kept calling US to get us to sign something directly with them. very sleazy)). everything not safety related still worked. just needed some body work and it'll get shipped to a developing country to resale.
