I saw a post on FB where a Glacier White R1T owner did it. Looked ugly as hell.

The painted trim looks great! Would you share where you had them painted? I have an R1S and looking to color match the black trim.

I had them done at Quality Assured Collision Center in Long Beach.

I wrapped the front silver skid plate piano black and love it. Silver stands out, black blends in better.
Do you happen to have any pictures of your wrapped skid plate? I'm interested in doing something similar to change up the color.

I'm looking into painting my trim as well. I'm a fan of the smooth gloss appearance! Can you comment on how the fender trim and door trim are removed? Are there clips that hold them in place and can they be reused? I would like to remove these myself and then have them painted at a body shop. Then hopefully reinstall myself. Any advice on if there are electrical connectors or sensors that mount to the trim?

There are parking sensors which you will need to disconnect. But we didn't have any issues when connecting them back when the job was done.

Sure. It should look the same as long as I don't scrape it or hit it. I had done this to our VW Toureg and it lasted at least 9 years we had the car. the key here is to primer them and prep them properly.
