It looks like both the Range and EV Base slides have two levels which looks like it may limit what can fit flat on the slide. Has that caused any problems for you?
I would say not. One has to remember that the tray is on slides and perhaps the slides could be mounted flat but that would compromise support strength. So that flat width would be 14 inches leaving the open channel underneath of 7 5/8 Wide x 2 Deep.

Couple things to keep in mind when shopping:

1 - is the vendor in the USA, reachable, experienced with their own
I've been doing some research ahead of my decision and purchase. There are a lot of great options. I thought I'd share here and see if there were any other thoughts/considerations or options I'm missing.

BoxGods
Price - TBD, but targeting $900 to $950
Availability - TBD, but based on latest posts seems like late this year
Slide function - pulls out fully from drivers and passenger side
Pros
  • Pulls fully out from either direction
  • Price is very competitive as it’s tied with EV Base as the cheapest option (assuming the price estimate holds). Especially competitive when you consider it pulls out in both directions and has a power outlet
  • There is a camp kitchen project that should be ready soon
  • Includes power outlets, (and does it in a more custom/creative way to save space vs range industries)
Cons
  • No website to order from. Need to sign up and pay via link you get in an email. Although this is the 2nd Rivian project and the first one was successful (12 gallon frunk water tank)
  • No locked in price or release date yet. Estimates only, but a working release candidate has been sent to a customer with posted pictures and videos, so should be soon.
  • No t-track or easy tie down options for gear, but the include dividers and the holes should mitigate that issue some

Interrobang
Price - $1400
Availability - November target
Slide function - pulls out fully from drivers and passenger side
Pros
  • Pulls fully out from either direction
  • Seems very diy friendly if you want to customize. Endless possibilities due to the plank design and good option for a diy camp kitchen
Cons
  • While the plank design yields better customization, by default it creates issues with items sliding off the slide. Totes or boxes are going to be needed
  • Seems pricey for what it is
  • Not available yet

EV Sportline
Price $900 (base slide only, but realistically ~$1400 after options)
Availability - now
Slide function - pulls only partially out in either direction
Pros -
  • Lots of add on options for tools and storage
  • Seems like the best option for a work truck where you can quickly access your tools from either side in most parking conditions
  • If you like the split slide (half passenger/driver) design, it's the only option
Cons -
  • Because it doesn't fully extend, it doesn't work well for those wanting to have a camp kitchen. Also limited for longer items that require a full extension. Probably best option for a work truck, but probably the worst option for overlanding.
  • Not super diy friendly due to the design and partial pull out (but the add ons mitigate that issue)

EVBase
Price $900 (on sale now, regularly $989)
Availability - now
Slide function - pulls out fully but only in ONE direction
Pros
  • Price. A lot cheaper than other options without any clear sacrifice from some of the more expensive options
  • DIY friendly and a good option for a camp kitchen
  • I like the T-Slot
Cons
  • Pull out in one direction is going to limit how you park

Range Industries
Price - $1300 base, $1450 with Power outlet
Availability - now
Slide function - pulls out fully but only in ONE direction
Pros
  • Power outlet option could be very useful (especially as a future kitchen slide)
  • DIY friendly and a good option for a camp kitchen
Cons
  • Pull out in one direction is going limit how you park
  • It’s expensive and I’m not sure why one would pay $300+ more over the EVBase which is similar (unless you wanted the outlet for ~450 more)

Thunderbolt Adventure Supply
Price - $1400 (on sale now for 1300)
Availability - Now
Slide Function - pulls out fully but only in ONE direction (can be switched driver/passenger)
Pros
  • Has a few cool accessary options (e.g. overland bin)
  • Seems very diy friendly if you want to customize. Endless possibilities due to the plank design
  • Can buy their camp kitchen that integrates well with the slide (I like the way it drops in and out easily)
  • The only plank option (that I know of) that you can buy now
Cons
  • It's a plank design like Interrobang's and it's the same price...but Interrobang's can pull out in both directions
  • Pull out in one direction is going limit how you park. However, looks like it's the only single slide option that can easily be converted to the opposite side

For my use cases, I really want something that pulls out fully, so EV Sportline is out. I think I could live with a slide that only pulls out in 1 direction, but both directions are ideal. While I’m sure the material and build quality justifies it, the extra price for Range Industries doesn't make sense vs the other options. Intrrobang looks like a great option if slide out in either direction is critical, but it's pricey. If BoxGods can keep the price and timeline estimates, it is a no brainer option. You just get more (full slide in both directions + power outlets) for less money. If not, EVBase is an attractive 2nd option based on the price.

Did I miss any?

Edit: Updated with Thunderbolt Adventure Supply's option (Thanks for the note below!). It's really great to see all the options we have for the R1T which is a bit surprising considering it's a pretty low volume vehicle.
Just a note, our EV Sportline sled is $900 - that's the regular price, not a sale price. And if you're comparing sleds, that is THE price. Anything else 'added' would be chests, cabinets, camps, etc - But in comparison to the other sleds listed, it's just $900.

Our sled deck is loaded with threaded bolt bosses and attachment points, making it very DIY friendly for outfitting with custom accessories and mountings.

We are here in the USA and available to help customers - and open to new ideas, feel free to PM me with your thoughts gang!

Yep, I had already noted that it was the "base" price for the slide only (not a sale price). Also, I updated the original post to clarify that I meant that it's less "user-friendly" when it comes to tie downs (e.g. no T-Slot) as a base only side but is DIY friendly if you want to leverage the bolt bosses. That said, the selling point for EV Sportline is the accessory attachments and how they work together vs as a base (I'd bet most bought at least 1 accessory). If the base slide fully extended in either direction and was under $1000, it might be my #1 choice.

After 5 months of experimenting with my own home made gear tunnel slide tray, I believe the 50/50 split is most useful and practical.
While your slide usage is 5 months greater than my 0, I'm not sure I agree with the 50/50 is most useful and practical over a full slide out option in either direction. For example, a full/dual slide could pull out 50% on either side if that was desired. The only thing it couldn't do is have both sides out at the same time, which I would think would be a rare need. The gear tunnel is the longest storage space on the R1T (a few inches over the bed), so losing the ability to use the full length easily with a 50/50 would be a limiter. Also, nice setup! I forgot to note that small drawer as a pro in the original post (just updated) which you are making great use out of.

Range Industries can be configured to slide out Pass or Driver side which should be noted like the Thunderbolt is. Nice job.

@ohseedee - it seems the Interrobang site is not safe:

Well that's no good! Thanks for bringing this to our attention. I'll look into this and see what is causing Norton to identify our site as not safe.
Our site is hosted on Shopify, which is known for its robust security features, including SSL encryption and continuous monitoring to protect against threats. It seems Norton may have flagged our site incorrectly, and we're working to resolve the issue.

In the meantime, you might try clearing your browser cache or using a different web browser, as this sometimes bypasses incorrect security warnings.

Thanks for letting us know!

Cons for the EVBase, they threaten people who don't give them good reviews and are difficult to get them to accept a return on of a damaged item.

I tried typing in the address manually instead of using the link, just in case there was something wrong with the link. Got the same message. Maybe someone reported the site to Norton incorretly, or it is mixed up with another site. There is a site named interobang.store which doesn't show the message, but maybe it is the dangerous site. I accidentally typed that address when manually trying to type yours.

Use caution when manually testing various combinations of intero + bang in the address bar

I believe I am one of the first member to receive and install the EVBase slide and I cannot recommend it to others currently. I made a more detailed post with images in a thread here.
Bummer. The slide hitting the gear tunnel door on pull out seems to be a common problem with other manufacturers too as there are variations with each R1T. To solve it I've seen at least two manufacturers include spacers or shims to increase the height of the slide if needed. So, for sure a ding against EVBase for not testing enough to know this was a problem and include a solution out of the box. As for the door not being able to close, yikes. Probably a similar problem with variances but these need to be known and a solution for out of the box.

Spacers do seem like a potential solution but the slide needs to be at least 1/2 inch higher to clear the latch at the top of the gear tunnel door. That's a big stack of washers.

The end plate of the evbase slide protrudes down for no discernable reason in a way that unnecessarily reduces clearance. I think the best solution is a redesigned end plate and a slightly taller mounting bracket.

Note ICYMI: the RMaxx sled does have tie-down features in addition to the bolt bosses. We made these features to work friendly with bungees, tie-downs, ratchet straps, rope - whatever! Multiple tie-down features on all 4 corners of each side:

also, note the RMaxx is a true 'single hand' unlock and pull out. This is a unique features, does not require two hands to unlock and pull out.
