If that's the case, it's broken. The more likely scenario is that you have the reverse camera selected when driving forward...No, I don't. The lines on the screen in my R1T are only present when she in in drive going forward. They do not appear when in reverse going backwards.

Unfortunately you are correct. Yesterday I also saw someone trying to eat a salad while driving on the highway. That was a new one….
My favorite sighting was a lady swerving while passing me on the highway. As she passed I observed she was face timing on a tablet mounted to the dash, and she had both hands off the wheel because she was using ASL to sign her side of the conversation ...Unfortunately you are correct.
