I was in Denmark over New Year’s and saw many of them in and around Copenhagen. I understand the Euro version is only two rows and I assume shorter, but has the same battery. Too bad the U.S. version couldn’t have more battery and thus range - for many people the range will be an obstacle, even if they don’t actually drive that much.

The config tool on the website was aggravating to play with as well. Coming from the MINI world prior to EV (but having a love for VW nostalgically, with two air cooled rides at home) to me. It was a no-brainer that you set up the ordering system to customize and create the perfect personal choice for the customer. MINI called it ‘youification’. Certainly it would delay production in that you have to wait for your configured model longer, but when I went into the tool, I was disappointed to see that as you would make selections that were presented as options for you, they would negate previous selections, but without a clear path. So you’d pick a color and then go to select the seating, but then it would say you couldn’t have the color. So you change the color and get the seating and then go to the drivetrain but then it would say you couldn’t have the chairs. That sort of thing. Now this was when it first launched so maybe it’s improved since then but I thought wow what a way to kill the experience. Particularly when it is underpowered and has low range and the importunate UI.

Ordering our Buzz was certainly clunky. Nothing on any website. We called our local dealer almost a year ago to see if we could get on a waiting list, but they didn’t really have one even though other dealers did with 10-20 people. We stuck with the closest dealer and took our chances and ended up having one of the best traditional buying experiences, ever.

The only real option was color - I believe only AWD first editions are available now.

That’s awesome. I’m glad you got one! Like many on this forum, I’m pretty accustomed to being an early adopter. How have you found it so far?

I think it looks great. The range is a killer. I mean, it’s essentially a non-starter.

It does have a killer HUD. Check it out online.

Based on my wife’s first impressions and my limited experience, this is going to be great for our use. I didn’t think I would like it as much as I do. We tend to take short trips mostly (island hoping/ferries) so it fits the bill. But, I will stay in the passenger seat for now. That’s ok, I have my toys. ?

I drove by the Boulder VW dealership and they had 6 on the lot. I didn't bother asking if any of them were available for purchase. I did notice that one had been marked Not For Sale due to the glass roof being damaged during shipping.
