I I still find funny that the Rivian charger doesn’t know it’s charging an R1T. That said, look at all the power I got at only 70% limit.

I I still find funny that the Rivian charger doesn’t know it’s charging an R1T. That said, look at all the power I got at only 70% limit.
I had one session that reported over 800... Not the most accurate for sure...

The J1772 spec doesn't communicate anything about the vehicle. Really, it only has a line that says a vehicle is connected and another that tells the car via PWM what the maximum allowed charging current is, as the car controls the amount of current drawn. The wallbox / EVSE is just a glorified extension cord with a contactor to energize the 240v lines after handshaking and determining that the connection is safe (grounded, etc.).

Yah but the box and truck both have wireless communication built in so they can talk.
