Faster charging tech (e.g., 800v) and better charging infrastructure means EVs with less batteries which means lighter EVs.

The delta between the EV weight and that of a comparable ICE vehicle in the same category is much smaller than I suspected. A few hundred pounds? I think it undermines his arguments...
Really? The difference between a R1S and a Tahoe is over 1500lb, and near 3000lbs between a Volvo XC90 and a R1S. EVs are heavy, especially with a very large battery.

Really? The difference between a R1S and a Tahoe is over 1500lb, and near 3000lbs between a Volvo XC90 and a R1S. EVs are heavy, especially with a very large battery.
Not really sure what the Rivian R1S weighs, EV Specifications has it at 5842 I think probably the best ICE vehicle to compare it to is the Range Rover the vendor site has it listed as 5530 so the R1S is 312 lbs heavier.

Range Rover Length 198.9, height 73.62, width mirrors in 80.59
Rivian R1S. Length 200.8. Height 77.3, width mirrors in 81.8.

Edit:

Found a more recent article that has the R1T at 6,949 and the R1S at 6,916 so we need to add 1074 to my previous message so yes the new number is 1386.
