Here are some photos from different angles. Sorry for the tree reflections. My first 2018 Tesla had a small crack starting from the trunk a month or two after purchase. Only 1" long. They fixed it under warranty, no questions asked. Yes, I may be able to get my insurance to pay for it. But shouldn't the responsible party take the financial hit? Insurance companies raise rates as required to cover their costs. My biggest concern is why did it crack. I have read on this forum about people that have had their roofs replaced several times. Rivian never said bring it in and we will take a look at it. They immediately set up a replacement and charge without asking to see the problem. 4,000?

Thanks for additional photos!

I'm not seeing an impact, and an edge-originating crack is suspicious without a divot/dent at the edge. There's no center divot like something hit it. There's no indent on the metal piece.

Maybe wipe the pollen off the area where the crack spreads from and take from directly overhead?

To my eye, it doesn't look like you're responsible for this one. From what I can make out, it looks like this crack is on the inside edge of the glass, not the outside. That edge is protected by the headliner.

Windshield glass is a bit more susceptible than other manufacturers but that's due to the angle of the windshield.
Not Acura MDX's. We had to replace one windshield/yr (6 windshields total) when we were driving from western Oregon to Central Oregon every weekend from November through March. It was awful. Insurance covered it but I was always nervous about leaks.

Prior to driving the MDX, we drove a 4 door 1995 GMC Yukon. Only had one broken windshield in 10 years doing the same drive at the same frequency.

No longer have the need to do the drive (thank goodness). I guess the Rivian has been spared 🤣
