Hello,

I've posted my experience and questions in a similar thread, but I'll creat my own. Hopefully someone can kindly provide some insights.

I proceeded with accepting my vehicle with some panel misalignments and a ding on the front driver's side door. My service center attempted a PDR but couldn't repair the ding and it's still visible from a narrow angle. Sadly, I cannot unsee what I see.

Rivian agreed to replace the front door, and it's been sitting in a body shop's parking lot for almost a month, waiting for the parts, etc. I'm told.

Over the weekend, I used my Rivian app to locate my vehicle to take a look at my vehicle, and to my horrid surprise, they had not touched much of my door, but took out a big chunks of my front bumper and driver's side headlight, etc., exposing many internals in the element.

Do you think it's required to take these parts out in order to replace the front door, or did something happen to my vehicle while in their possession?

If your door was misaligned, then front drivers side fender was probably also misaligned as well. I think removing or adjusting the fender requires the bumper cover to be removed. None of those parts behind exposed is an issue, since they all get wet when it rains. The source of the misalignment could very well be the brackets that hold the fender on, so bumper cover removal would be required.

Thank you for your insights.
I should've been more clear in my first write up. The panel misalignments were pertaining to the hood, front and rear doors, and the lift gate, for which the fix were implemented already by Rivian service technician along with a PDR attempt prior to taking my vehicle to the body shop. Re-working panel anlignments weren't part of the work order, as far as I understood.

To replace the front door the bodyshop will have to blend the paint into the fender. To blend the paint into the fender, the front bumper, headlamp, etc will have to be removed.

Thank you slapski for your reply. My vehicle came with front PPF from the factory. Interestingly, neither my front panel nor my front fender had its PPF removed for paint matching and blending. Sadly to report, the work was sloppy and questionable, to say the least. Very disappointed.
