I have taken my T to the same detailer many times. During my last appointment they left the carpets wet, in particular the drivers side was soaked. I use it mainly solo, so the salt and other crap was crusted on the driver’s side floor.

I returned to them and asked them to get the carpets dried and next time, to wait until it is dry before giving it back to me.

They informed me they leave the vehicles air on or use a dehumidifier. I thought to myself, I am paying(yes due to laziness) $300+ for this. Why are they wasting my “fuel” to finish their job.

My ask is, especially for those that may have, or do this type of work. Is that the norm? Use the vehicle climate to dry out the carpets. I assume so, but wonder. Does leaving the hot air on max for 60+ minutes cause any issues to the interior?

Thankfully it’s not a “Riv issue”. The person that cleaned my T left it wet.

You sure faulty or blocked AC drain isn’t the cause?
this might be the cause right here. rivian replaced the HVAC plug once during the voluntary 12V replacement. 3 weeks ago, felt the front driver carpet damped and turned out the HVAC encloser and plug need to be replaced again. They also replaced a few other things at caused damaged by this.

I opened the door and had direct sunlight to this area to ruled out the HVAC plug damaged.. It dried it up in 12 hours, but it came back after using the AC heavily.

Folks, it is not a Rivian failure.

The new “humano” left the carpet wet.

I returned expecting them to do some manual drying, but no. They left the air on max heat, with the doors and windows closed. Now, the carpet feels harder than it did, due to me not cleaning, removing some of the “snow, salt” off it during the winter.

I have been to the same location, at least twice a year for the previous 9 years, even before I had my T. This is the first time I have an issue.

I agree with you. Time to go to a different detailer. Perhaps a mobile one. Those are the ones I've had the best luck with. Keep in mind I only get this done maybe once or twice a year.

Or, and stay with me here, you can detail it yourself. :p

But seriously this kind of stuff is why I do my own detailing. You pay pretty good money to have it done and then you notice all kinds of little details that got missed. It's aggravating.

I had mine detailed, but the carpets were only damp. They dried overnight.
