Connect+ trial ending, will I still be able to use Spotify?

I got an email that my Connect+ trial is ending. Had my R1S since Feb 2024. I know Connect+ was added not that long ago. I've searched but havent quite gotten my answer. Will I still be able to use my Spotify account on my rivian while driving if I don't opt into the program. Thanks in advance.

Our understanding is you can use phone wifi Hotspot (make sure unlimited data plan) to make Spotify etc work. Guess we will find out for sue in a week.

I believe remote Gear Guard view and satellite view for maps are the only features you lose if you choose to use your phone hotspot.

I believe you need connect+ for Google and YouTube functionality which is coming soon. Can someone confirm?

You will have to tether your truck to your phone in order to use the built-in Spotify app. Or you can use the Spotify app on your phone and use Bluetooth.

The key word in that email link in the reference to Spotify is data. If you use the Rivian for Spotify data, it’ll be gone.

If you don't subscribe, you most likely will need to tether your phone (and use its data plan) as a hotspot. The email, like any sales pitch, gives impression of urgency. But, there's really no need to be alarmed. Once trial ends, you can begin your paid subscription whenever. If you don't think you need the expenditure, let it play out and see how it goes—and see what services/functions remain. There's no impetus to decide ahead of time.

Wow, I wish they release it in a month or so. I am sure a lot of us will be on road trips during Nov & Dec

I was saying in reference to the many roadtrips we're taking this holiday season. I guess you could use it while charging but I always get out and walk around and get fresh air instead.
