Ordering the Compact Spare for R1S

In case others might find this helpful...
The R1S compact spare is now available. But if purchased online from the store, it's sold at the post price-hike cost. If you had configured the spare in your reservation before the price-hike, you can get it at the original price.
1. Call customer service at 888-748-4261. Select the option for "Service." If you call between 6 and 6:30 AM Mountain Time, you have a good shot at a very short wait. My call went right through.
2. Tell the rep you want to order the spare at the pre price hike price, they'll verify your account, and schedule the service appointment for installation.
3. I'm pretty close to the Colorado Springs SC, but the rep said she could schedule Mobile Service if I wanted. Mobile Service. I went for that. They had slots in as little as 2 weeks out, but due to conflicts, I went with the end of Dec.
4. They'll email you an invoice for electronic signature and approval.

That's it. It was a very quick and easy process.

@runningdenver confirming my setup (wheels/tires) arrived today. So from order to delivery was 8 calendar days (6 business days)
@ajthejuice - nice, thanks. And the rims / wheels look good ? I just got confirmed for delivery of my R1S for this Friday, so may go ahead and order now. Dumb question - but did the nokian tires come inflated on the rims or not ? I was going to order the bottle jack, and try and do myself. thanks

I'm looking for a 22" bright spare if anyone in the Denver area has an extra or wants to get rid of a rim. I do have an extra tire but would consider one with a tire as well.

@runningdenver come mounted, balanced, and with air! While not installed here is a quick photo I took while unwrapping them from shipping this afternoon. I'll take a photo of them installed after it's complete.

I'm outsourcing installation to a mobile tire company locally this go round.

Got a call from Rivian today. My truck is scheduled to have the passenger side mirror repaired on the 26th. They wanted to know if it would be OK if they also fixed my tonneau cover..

Like twist me damn arm. What the heck do you think I’m gonna say. That really put me in a good mood for the rest of the day.

Can’t wait.

Colorado gang, I request your recommendations. I'm looking for a reasonably compact recovery or tow strap to keep in the R1S. I've spent way too much time researching tow vs recovery, required strength, different brands etc.
We won't be doing any true off-roading, but do make winter trips through the mountains for skiing and winter camping. I want a strap to help other stuck motorists, but also to possibly help the Rivian.
Using the 3x strength rule I read, a strap for the Rivian would need something like a 25,000 lb rating. Those straps are very large and heavy. Given that this would be used for a very rare, emergency scenario, I'm looking for advice on a good compromise of strength vs size/weight; tow vs recovery; and connection point (front tow points vs a rear hitch loop).
Thanks.

I got this from Rhino. Got the 1” since it is recommended for 1T truck which is about what ours weighs.

I use this one, and carry it everywhere in my truck. I have towed a semi truck with it, and it continues to work great.

@runningdenver installed this AM. I used Elevated Mobile Tire Services for the swap. They had Rivian experience and the pucks. Wasn’t cheap at $159, but time is money ?. I’ll consider my options again in the spring for when I swap them back out.

I built my own little kit out of the 2 items below. ~$100 for everything. Fits in one small bag and gets stored under the frunk shelf without issue. Enables recovery from hitch or front tow hooks. Haven't had to use it yet, luckily...

I think I got This one, plus some soft shackles. Similar use case to you. I know a lot of situations the kinetic is better, but I wanted something to gently rescue a vehicle when necessary. I used something similar on my old 4runner and never needed a running start. I don’t go on offroad trails where recovery is likely, it’s just for snowy roads and trails.

Buy Once, Cry Once. I get Factor 55 for my recovery gear. I also keep a set of MaxTrax in both of my off-roading vehicles (R1T and Wrangler Rubicon).

Planning my first trip to Copper Mountain this week driving my R1S from Denver. Plan to charge to 100% and have 20" Blizzak snow tires. I'm assuming I should be good without having to stop for charging?

Any useful tips/advice for those who have done it in Winter for Ski trip?

Thanks!
