The middle on the slider rails is perfect for securing a full size spare upright in the back, so I'm really glad I have the rails. I also cover them up with a rubber liner on a daily basis, so the rails don't bother me otherwise. But sounds like I'm in a minority.
What sort of liner do you use to cover them?

I like these new tie down points. The sliding inserts stick up and get in the way so I never keep them inserted. Like all recessed rails, they are dirt collectors.

Hmm. I don’t love that and hope it’s not a sign of things to come for all models. I really like what those rails have enabled.

Do you have a post detailing the rails above? I was thinking of doing something like that.

What do you guys use the tie downs for? Only use case I can think of is restraining my unruly children?

I’ve moved stainless steel control panels in the back, one trip I had 8-10 of them, essentially 18x18x10” stainless steel boxes weighing about 50-60lbs each. I tied them down so they didn’t shuffle around in the trunk.

nowhere near the payload but enough sharp corners and slippery smooth metal on carpet that I didn’t want them sliding around.

Odd, my 2026 does not have the rails and just a (re)movable cover.

I also know some people reported that their dogs would get their paws stuck in the tracks.

I personally think these anchor points are just as useful, but I would like to see a more durable / easier to clean material than carpet in the trunk Ă  la the Dune flooring.
I’ve got the anchors with no tracks in a 2026 duo. But I have to agree on the flooring cover - el cheapo. It’s a dog hair magnet, hard to clean. I got a full set of Canvasback covers immediately, but the carpet is so thin it won’t adhere to their Velcro, so they have to supply stick-on Velcro tape - not a great solution. My model Y has carpet that adheres perfectly to Velcro and is frankly easier to clean.
