Bottle Jack Recommendations?

Curious why 12 ton, seems like a 4 ton is more than enough, I’m probably going with a 6 ton when I get my R1S.

Lifting height perhaps? Unsure

Hi does the bottle jack need to lift 23", or just achieve 23" with the jack pucks in place?

I honestly can't remember. It's probably been discussed in one of many past threads on jacks. I think the 23 figure is for total lift height of the jack + puck. Rear has more travel and requires more lift to clear rear tire of ground. And different pucks have different height... so the answer is nuanced. That said, it doesn't hurt to have a jack pad. They not only add height but also provide stability (especially on soft ground). Some pads are sold singular and provide ~3" of additional height. Some are thinner and sold in stackable sets.

That's pretty much it. Load-wise 3-ton is enough, but those typically have around 17" max lift or less.

Missing detail here: if you’re using a bottle jack, your puck needs a receiving port that matches the jack’s top‑hat diameter. They’re all different.

We use the Big Red 10T because it’s cheap, easy to find, and lifts the Rivian no problem. Rear suspension droop means you’ll need extra height in the back, an RV pad or wood block works.

Our magnetic JackPucks are sized for the Big Red 10T top hat. Don’t run a bottle jack with a puck that doesn’t have a proper receiving port (photos below).
