I was fortunate enough to receive my ordered R1T about 3 weeks ago in SoCal...Quite a few have been delivered in the past 3 weeks ...I have seen most colors and wheel combinations ...I have not seen an ocean coast interior( other than test drive some time ago)....My Guide Sam and Kara have been very easy to work with and answer my questions and address issues. I have noticed the service team has been very attentive and responsive during the past 2 weeks...I think the delivery period during the last week of March was very busy and kind of their version of "tax day" if you are a CPA.....I assume delivering RT1's before the quarter end took alot of extra effort and time.
I have received all my ordered equipment ---except tent which I was advised would be delayed ....They estimated that it would take 2 weeks for my equipment to be delivered ...and it was delivered within 2 weeks. I experienced some audio system issues which were fixed with some change in my routine...I use apple charging cords and leave them plugged in ---not with the phone plugged in---and I also used a cigartte lighter adapter to provide addtional USB oulets. I am not positive ...but I think the cigarette lighter adaptor being left in the outlet created an issue...the vehicle thought an occupant was detected and did not allow the modules to power down when I left vehicle..even when I locked my R1T...Once I removed the adaptor (which had a small led light on it) My audio system issues went away.
I also received the OTA firmware update to 2022.11.2 It took around 35 minutes to load and install (my vehicle was connected to home wifi.....)
The sound system has not experieneced any issues since the OTA and the vehicle is driving smoother ...not sure if the susupension tuning was altered ...but my R1T is much less nervous and more composed when driving. My range got better...maybe...I may have gotten over the jump to lightspeed driving phase of ownership...so my right foot may be more the cause of better range. The range estimate is much more accurate for sure.
My Land Rover dealer called me about 2 vehicles they have...a 2022 defender v8 and the new range rover V-6....both had ADM's of 50K ---who knows what they are actually recieving. The Defender v8 @ $162k, The 2023 Range Rover @ $170K. My rivian R1T at $79k (thank you RJ) Both range rovers drove like a dream ..the v8 defender is fun and drives excpetionally well...the 2023 Range Rover may have the best suspension in the world of SUV...I haven't driven the Aston Martin SUV ....btw...I guess you cannot put roof racks on the defender v8...so that eliminated it for me.
My SalesPerson is very relaxed and not pushy...he was very curious about my Rivian ...SO I offerred to take him on a test drive and let him drive it as well. The Rivian was almost equal to the Range Rovers in many areas...and much better (performance and price) in other areas. The Rivian put Land Rover on notice...we have built an all around better vehicle. My Rivian continues to grow on me and surprise me...each week of ownership is getting better ...My guides are very helpful and working hard to deliver a great customer experience. My decision is that the Rivian Rt1 is the one to keep over the Land Rovers...I hope to take delivery of my 2022 R1S in the next 30-45 days...My prediction...it wil be better than the Range Rovers...Not in all areas ....but overall. Go Rivian !!! btw...the Land Rover Salesperson was blown away by my Rivian ...he is very honest ...last year he told me I was gaining to much weight...lol--he was was right so he gives me honest opinions---He agreed that it was a better choice.
