I’m sorry if this was already discussed. I was not able to find the info.
Earlier today out of nowhere, the battery pack on the screen turned red and had a warning sign.
I contacted Rivian via chat and they just told me to make a service appointment.
the vehicle drives normal.
also noticed the battery is at 32 Fahrenheit. It’s 80ish and sunny outside. And at night goes down to the 70s.
while I wait for my service appointment. Has anyone experienced this?

Less than 4K miles.
Thank you

Sorry you have to deal with that. I’ve not had this happen, but it seems impossible the battery temp would be 32 degrees yet showing a graphic as if it’s overheating. Makes me think the actual temp is unknown, which may mean your battery is fine but will still need to get that fixed. So i would just schedule the appointment and stay optimistic until you have a reason not to be…

I posted about this yesterday on another similar topic but basically I had the same issue that popped up when my proximity locking at home started acting up. My issue was initially even more confusing because my truck wasn’t even showing me the option to disable proximity lock at home which lead me to check my home location and key settings and neither were showing up correctly.
I have terrible cell service at my house but I was connected via wifi and did a reset but unfortunately that also didn’t correct the issue and created a few new ones such as the truck thinking my battery temp was 32 degrees on a 90 degree day. I finally took a ride up the rode to a location with a strong cell signal and did another reset which corrected the issues after about 10 minutes.

I had a very brief battery notice like the one above the other day. About the time I realized there’s a warning on the graphic it disappeared not to be seen since. There were no other warnings or anything.

I saw this on a recent road trip. I did a soft reset at the next charging stop and the display returned to normal. I haven’t seen it since.

Soft reset did it

elevation still blank but I might have to drive a bit. Battery temp makes sense, compass works, battery pack warning gone.

thanks for the help, hopefully someone at Rivian watches this and can pass the message for a permanent fix with the next update.

You either have a faulty BMS, a critical failure of the software, or a faulty battery temperature regulating valve that is not opening/closing properly. I would add a bad thermocouple, except it should have multiple ones for redundancy.

I am having this same issue. I’ve tried both soft reset and full reboot. Neither has cleared it. I am still waiting to hear back from Rivian support. Timing couldn’t be worse as we are planning to leave for a weekend vacation and need the truck to access the cabin.

Oh no. All that sounds pretty bad. So far the soft reset did it and nothing wrong/weird has happened.

Update on my truck. Still have the issue after multiple resets /restarts -all types. Rivian home service scheduled for third week in September. they tell me no issue driving the truck with amber battery /32 degree temp reading. There are multiple other issues as well:
1. none of my keys are shown in the truck key menu screen but they are all listed in the phone app and are working.
2. the nav is stuck showing the truck at home location (screen never changes -shows fixed home location even when driving) but may not recognize that it is actually at home (?) as other geolocated functions do not work but that may be due to something else
3. none of my charging schedules show up and it is not possible to set new ones as the screen selections do not function.
4. when setting charge level, no matter what I set, it always charges to 81%
5. in the access menu / proximity locking, there is no option under to alter behavior at home. It is just gone....

Currently on 2024.27.01. I am wondering if I should run the latest update (2024.31.01) to see if it can straighten out all these bugs but nervous it will make things worse. I have reached out to Rivian about this. What is the forum's opinion??
