I had a steering wheel shake at speeds over 65mph. Scheduled a service appointment; at the beginning they set it up as a mobile appointment and said they’ll send someone to diagnose it and perform a road force balance at my house.
I waited 2 months for the appointment. A week before my appointment I got a phone call from the SC saying that the mobile tech won’t be able to perform road-force balancing and I have to bring it to the SC for further diagnosis. I said okay, as long as you guys can take care of the problem, it’s fine.
I left home at 7am to get there at 8, one whole hour of driving. They tell me to wait for a couple minutes so they can have a tech go on a ride with me; I wait by the car and the service advisor comes out to let me know that the shake is normal and there’s nothing they can do about it (no one even looked at my car, mind you. Let alone drive it!!!!). I said I just drove an hour because you told me you can’t diagnose it at my house and you tell me now that it’s normal???? She said well we can get it check out but we’re backed up so much that the truck will sit here for over a week until we can get to work on it.
I was just shocked, got back in my truck without saying anything and left. One of the worst experiences I’ve ever had with any service center, and I owned many different cars, from over 15 different car manufacturers along the years.
I drove straight to discount tire to try and fix the balancing issues, because that’s what the SC would have done anyway, and I’m not going to leave my truck with them for 2 weeks to save $100. Went in with 25lbs of road force on 2 tires and DT messed it up. They made it worse and couldn’t figure out how to reverse it so it would be back to the 25lbs number I came in with. Now I’m mad at the service center, discount tire and have 45lbs road force that make the car drive like sh*t… FML. I’m on my way to the lake to get the final steps of my insurance fraud finalized…
