Apple Music App Crash

With the latest update (2026.07.0) the Apple Music app was improved and enhanced, but I'm still having issue with the Apple Music App crashing after driving. Its almost always within 2 mins after I start driving. I only have to press play to continue.

My Rivian is a 2026 R1S gen 2 quad.

Is anyone else having this issue?

Yeah , it’s still having issues. I have similar problems. 22 quad R1T.

Yes me to. Also the Apple phone through Bluetooth on the 26 R1S quad is lousy quality.

Yep, having the same issue. I've seen this sporadically over the last two years but definitely worse since the last update. Happens every time I drive now.

That said, I'm still so happy Rivian decided not to implement CarPlay. It's definitely worth years and years of buggy software, random disconnects, unexpected playback quality issues, inability to search our entire libraries, etc. just so we can pay a little extra every year to have lower quality user experience. Absolutely the right call on their part, would never want them to reconsider this or change a thing! /s

Not sure I would call this crashing, but every once in awhile it just stops playing, the screen is still there, sometimes there is a momentary pause as it switched into or out of Dolby Atmos mode. When it stops playing I hit play and the song starts over where I would hope it would continue where it left off.

You guys had a time when you weren't having issues? I've never had Apple Music be not buggy or randomly stop multiple times a drive.

Agreed, its more of a pause, just have to press play again. Many times it starts the song at the beginning.

Not necessarly crashing but just stopping, it just stops playing. When it stops playing I hit play and the song starts over where I would hope it would continue where it left off. This has happened for the last year and a half, but more since the update.

Mine hasn’t loaded in either Rivian since the update. Had to listen to my phone when I drive them. I’ve been too lazy to do a full reset.
