Being a composer, I want to know why you are hauling timpani around (as a job, for fun, something else?)! I remember the last time I helped haul some around, a moving van was rented...
A hobby that sometimes pays. I've managed to cart what I need, and consider the collapsible leg versions. Where/What do you compose?

I am all about the Upgrade to the R2. I love my R1S, but as others have said, I don't need a truck this big. We are a family of 3 and do a lot of road trips. So a better range is more attractive, and a bit smaller is good for daily driving. It will still do more than I need it to, and also as a launch in Great condtion I hope to flip to the R2 for pretty close to a straight trade. New car, new tech, and still a Rivian. Seems like a win for my family.

I own an R1T Launch Edition and have a reservation on an R2 that I will likely cash in. Was on the fence about getting the R2 until I watched this terrific video by OutofSpecKyle -

I’m very impressed with the improvements in engineering, design, etc. and am looking forward to it! Plus, I’m close to being out of warranty on my R1T and am not looking forward to worrying about having to pay out of pocket to replace the air suspension system in it. I’ll miss the gear tunnel, but the overall improvements in the R2 are very compelling.
