  1. "It's a rare consumer product [R2] that approaches perfection" -- Jason Cammisa

Not misinterpreting anything; that’s what he said. He’s not gonna buy it because it doesn’t have Apple CarPlay. I do have a beef with anybody who says something like this anyway. Your focus in a car should not be your phone. Period. The end. I don’t care how good the self driving becomes your...
  2. "It's a rare consumer product [R2] that approaches perfection" -- Jason Cammisa

“ …perfection…” But he won’t buy it because it doesn’t have Apple CarPlay…Because he missed a text stream… and then complains about somebody on their phone almost running him off the road… Just buy the “perfect “car, and pull off the road for two minutes to answer your texts. Sounds incredibly...
  3. R2 Driving Dynamics

Here’s a fun comparison to the 4runner and the model Y
  4. Grab Handles for R2

I just asked if they could be retrofitted. I don’t understand what questions you guys have.
  5. Grab Handles for R2

Has anyone retrofitted aftermarket grab handles in similar rigs?
  6. Charging w/portable battery?

Has anyone had success charging with a portable battery enough to get to the next station or home? I wanna do a 0% run, and wanna make sure that I’ll get home.
  7. R2 Across America: 2,000 miles through six states

"On ONE LEG of a 2250-mile journey" (capitalized emphasis mine)... NOT the Entire 2250...the idea being the 17 hours was relatively easy due to the ride quality, seat comfort and UHF system.
  8. R2 demo drives just around the corner.

    /SOONish you mean...
  9. Rivian R2 game plan

AS stated in a number of interviews with Rivian "bigwigs".
  10. Rivian R2 game plan

Correct that the LIDAR won't help the driver much specifically, but is more about "feeding" their Large Driving Model; the database of all available info for all drivers of all roads. I like the idea of waiting for the RAP1 as it's a quantum leap ahead, AND it's in-house Rivian products, AND...
  11. R2 will be my first EV, so what L2 charger should I get?

I've just installed a NEMA 14-50 and plugged the portable charger (incl with R1, apparently not with R2) in. Any reason that shouldn't work? Note: It has worked just fine for 3.5 years... As for using a charger app: I've just used the on-board app for the R1 to start/stop, and set up charging...
  12. R2 back windows?

EVEN Though some reviewers still reference them, after it was obvious they were no longer an option.
  13. As you might have guessed.... higher gas prices has increased interest in EVs [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS]

As with anything that is a quantum change; for a lot of folks it'll need to "hurt" before they make changes, as logical and timely as they may be!
  14. Employees receiving R2 first. Does this forum have any Rivian employees? Will/Can they answer questions?

Thanks for the link: A Rivian job was actually a consideration for a post-retirement gig (3 months and 2 days...not that I'm counting). That would be pretty good timing, dontchya think?
  15. Anyone considering trading their R1T for an LE R2?

A hobby that sometimes pays. I've managed to cart what I need, and consider the collapsible leg versions. Where/What do you compose?
  16. Anyone considering trading their R1T for an LE R2?

Absolutely; I've always wanted a 4Runner, and the R2 perfectly fits the bill; my '22 R1T doesn't have the bed length for my bikes, R2 does. It's tough to cart timpani in the truck (unless I turn 1-2 of them upside down, and that's not good); R1's have a big ass, and I want something a bit...
  17. 2026 R2 pricing, range & specs! $57,990 Performance Launch Edition / $53,990 Premium / $48,490 Standard / $45,000 Standard (Smaller Battery)

I'd love to pick up the Launch/Premium edition (If I have the option from my place in line). I'm wondering if - since the first roll outs won't have LIDAR/Rivian Processor - the later version WITH those two will still have the "Launch edition" specs?
  18. First Mile: Unsure

As for driving in Traffic: On my way back from some fun accelerations on a "country highway" and some quick "up-to-speeds" onto uphill on ramps (woohoo!), we returned to traffic. While sitting, we got into a proselytizing conversation with someone next to us...
