Never gonna happen. The axle disconnect in the quads is not designed to be engaged or disengaged under load where the dual is.It would be nice, if when in conserve mode, if additional power is needed than the front motors can deliver....say at the top 20% of pedal travel, that the rear motors would engage and quickly give the driver added power.
Probably true. Plus I suspect since Rivian didn't include this type of programming already, they probably have concerns of too many cycles of the clutch being a problem for longevity. I pretty much have decided not to use conserve unless I need every last mile on a trip. I like having the full potential power should I need it in an emergency situation and I like the more even tire wear. The other benefit is the less that clutch is used....the less likely it will fail probably too.Conserve mode on the highway has A LOT of power to pass vehicles. More than the majority of vehicles of the same size. What would we need more in conserve for?
