like many of us I am waiting on a manual tonneau cover. With a ski trip coming up I wanted the space in the back to lock and store skis, so went for it and made one.
materials, all from Home Depot:
-1/2” sandeply, 2 4x8 sheets
-36”x1.5”x1/8” aluminum bar
-stainless screws
-9/16” weather stripping
-exterior paint
about $200 in materials and 2.5 hours work, I am happy with it for now! It’s probably not waterproof but should at least be water resistant and is pretty secure. It’s a bit flexy, to improve it I could add some square aluminum bars underneath or something. It’s 3 panels, so it does fit In the gear tunnel, but takes most the space in there.
Open to suggestions on how to improve it!
