Spotted a pair of R1S in the wild - Glacier White & Red Canyon

In Woodside, CA, which is a couple of miles away from Rivian's office in Palo Alto. They had non-CA plates (Illinois or Michigan?), so clearly corporate cars, but it's great to see them in the neighborhood while patiently (?) waiting for ours. They were stopped in the middle of the road and looked kind of lost so I followed them out of curiosity and sure enough, they ended up in a private driveway just up the road and had to turn around. Maybe they were debugging the GPS?

Seems weird to intentionally follow them. They may have gone up a private driveway to avoid stalkers.

To be clear, I did not follow them down a private driveway. While I am familiar the road they were on, I could not remember for sure whether it was only driveways or if maybe there was a dirt road on one side. So I passed them while they were still stopped, and turned around a bit later when I realized this was indeed a dead end. They then passed me as I was heading back, hit the same dead end and turned around too.

probably not a big deal. they might have stopped, gotten out of the vehicles, just gotten back in the vehicles and click.

The guy in the white one kept going back and forth between the 2 cars and they honestly looked like they were lost.

Maybe “Lost in the not-so-wild” mode will be part of the next OTA update…
