Hey gang,

Been a long time lurker here but just created an account. I’m very active on Tesla and Bronco forums lol.

I just received the email and text that it’s time to schedule delivery. I will be picking up in El Segundo on Friday!

As a 6 time Tesla owner I would arrive and inspect before actually handing over any $$$. Is this a common practice for Rivian’s as well?

I did find the checklist that has been growing in size and will definitely do a check of the more prevalent issues but won’t do the full check until I drive 70 miles back home. How has quality been lately?

I’m a 10xxx VIN
OD 5/19/21 (not sure why I was picked)
Glacier White/Black
Large Pack
20” A/T
Underbody Shield
Powered Tonneau

Thanks for any comments and super excited.

I signed before we open the doors. So far I've discovered that the camp speaker is a dud, one of the back headrests won't elevate, and one of my 12v outlets doesn't work. All minor issues that I'll present whenever I have a serious issue, or 59,000 miles/59 months.

I've purposely avoided the "check lists". I'd rather live in Plato's cave on some of this stuff like panel gaps

yeah I understand coming from a Tesla. No vehicle is perfect not any of my Teslas or the Bronco I picked up last month. The list for me is more looking at bolts that folks found loose and also so I know what doesn’t work so I can be selective with demos to my circle lol.

Oh man I think I saw your truck on Monday. I was dropping mine off at the SC for some minor issues. It looks bad ass.

My 2 cents would be unless there is something major wrong take delivery. Make notes with your delivery specialist of any defects and put in tickets thru the app same day. Drive the truck for 500 miles or so before you take it back in. I had afew other things pop up.

Hopefully yours is perfect.

You have 7 days…you aren’t going to have enough time to check every box off that list. As long as a fender isn’t dragging on the ground take delivery. ?

Agreed and don’t plan on it. Mostly plan on an outside visual inspection of blatant QC issues. One question though I saw some delivery guides taking buyers on a ride is this a requirement or suggested?

Not required, they offered I delined. If you haven't done a first mile I'd recommend it.

My understanding is all the transactions are done before delivery is scheduled. I have not heard of anybody inspecting the truck before completing transaction.
i have seen a couple people mention that they needed to wire Funds a few days prior to delivery.

I was able to schedule delivery with the Payment, Signing of doc, and insurance incomplete. Not sure if anything has changed. Im sure they will bug me soon since delivery is Friday. I completed signing docs but still need to do insurance and payment.

Good to know. That is pretty much where I am at in the process. Though I think my truck could still be on railway. I wish you could get updates as it is transported.

When I took delivery in June I was able to INSPECT whatever I wanted before I signed the delivery pad. What I couldn’t do is drive it until I signed.

This reminds me I've never actually checked to see if my camp speaker works.

Nor have I checked the outlets in the frunk or gear tunnel. I didn't even know the back headrests elevated.

they don’t. They only have one position.

can be removed like any others though, where you have to push in the Little locking tab with a screwdriver or something before pulling them out.

I have delivery today and was told by my Guide that everything had to be finished yesterday by 5:00pm to keep my delivery date. I was having issues with current insurance company and with Plaid (for payment) and ended up getting temporary insurance policy with Liberty Mutual and having to wire the money (down payment) instead. It was a scramble yesterday and got things finalized at like 4:00pm to confirm I could pick the truck up today.
