PNW Rivian Fans,
Mark your calendars for next Friday, August 5th, for our next meet-up.
We're changing things up and goIng to the famous Rock Creek Tavern, one of McMenamin's flagship properties. It's West of downtown Portland off of the Sunset Hwy, US-26.
It's located at:
10000 NW Old Cornelius Pass Rd, Hillsboro, OR 97124.
(This is just a 1/2 mile North of the intersection of Old Cornelius Pass road, and Cornelius Pass Road. It can be confusing, but stay with me!)
I'll be there from 4:00 until after dark, so the earlier you join, the better. We have a few new lucky R1T owners who have reached out to inquire about joining us, so this should be a larger gathering, with more people and their Rivians on hand.
It's only about 4 miles North of the Sunset Highway (US 26), off of either the NW 185th Ave. exit, or the N.W. Cornelius Pass Rd. exit. From either exit, head to the North. As you're going North on OLD Cornelius Pass Rd., either after crossing or turning left from Cornelius Pass Rd., within a half mile, you'll see a "Congestion" sign on the East side of the road. Slow down here.
Don't blink, because 100 feet later, you'll see a small sign on the right announcing "Additional Tavern Parking" and a gravel driveway that'll get you to the North side of the building, with a walkway through the shrubs that'll deliver you right to the Tavern. No need to walk on the roadway.
As the place can get crowded on Friday nights during the Summer, they assured us this Southside parking area would be the easiest place for all of us to park together. I was told by a car enthusiast that there could be pitch falling from the trees if it's really hot, so park away from them, if you're worried about it.

I visited with the Manager and staff there yesterday, and, contrary to what their website says, we are greenlighted to have our dogs join us anywhere outside. As you'll see from the pictures here, and on their website, there are plenty of outdoor dining areas. Be careful, as the traffic on Old Cornelius Pass Rd. sails right by the front door, so keep your pooches safe.
The same is true when pulling into or out of both of their parking lots, as it's on a busy country road and not everyone slows down out there.
The first driveway past the building will also get you into the main lot, but that can be heavily congested on a Friday, and they're not big on having crowds in that lot. It can get dusty there with heavy traffic.
Please bring any cool products or ideas you may have discovered or built so we can play show and tell and share ideas.
As always, please feel free to pass along my contact info to anyone you may know that might want to join us.
I hope to see as many of us there as possible!
Thanks!
Bruce
