All Weather Floor Mat Modification - DIY Yellow Rivian Logos

I know there have been a few posts on the all weather floor mats and the disappointment in the all black mats. I was holding out hope I would get a set of the mats with the yellow logos, but I was disappointed when they showed up today.

Before I installed them, I figured why not try to modify/improve them. I had some of the yellow vinyl on hand so I cut out the Rivian logo. The vinyl wasn’t sticking 100% even after cleaning so I got a hair dryer and heated the vinyl and pressed it down on the mats while it was hot. It seemed to stick much better. It took me about 30-35 minutes from start to finish.

I have no idea how this will hold up, but they sure look much better right now!

Yeah I’m not sure either to be honest. I figure it will work for now and it was quick/easy, so if it lasts even a few months then I’ll be happy. I can easily redo it again.

I had the same thought as well and picked up some outdoor acrylic from Michael’s. It’s Fiesta yellow in case anyone is wondering.. anyway, I heated the floor mat first, painted, heated, painted, heated and let sit in the house/warm for a couple days. We’ll see if it holds. Already made it through one weekend of deer hunting and in and out of it by a bunch of big dudes with heavy boots on. And kids.

I can add updates on how they are holding up.

I think if you dragging your feet/stuff across them regularly, then they may not last too long. I don’t think they will hold up to pressure washing either…..might be fine with a hose or just a wipe down.

Mine just showed up, no prior notification they were coming. An hour later, the "Your floor mats were delivered!" email from Rivian. Slightly disappointed at the lack of yellow. Still need to order a paint touch up pen, may paint the logos body color instead.

Wow this looks great! Can I ask what color vinyl this is? Just regular yellow? It looks (in the picture at least) to match the Rivian compass yellow very well.

It’s Oracal golden yellow. It’s pretty much a perfect match.
