You mean you don’t enjoy shouting your order to someone over the sounds of 10 nearby food truck generators? Or breathing in the exhaust while you try to enjoy your food? It’s part of the experience!THIS would be a sweet innovation. Especially if the battery and inverter were sized to run appliances. Anyone want to start an EV food truck outfitting company?
Looking at the spec sheet it says 100kWh LFP battery with a max DCFC charge rate of 100kw. Such slow DC charging doesn't sound right. With a Max Pack, I'm in.
Commercial Van has a completely different battery/charging subsystem than R1. Small and slow. Because that's plenty for commercial fleets that stay local and will charge on AC at a depot 99% of the time.Looking at the spec sheet it says 100kWh LFP battery with a max DCFC charge rate of 100kw. Interesting. I wouldn't think the Amazon Rivian that delivers packages to our house often after dark could not get charged enough for the next day at 11kw AC. Surely they are DCFC these things.Commercial Van has a completely different battery/charging subsystem than R1. Small and slow. Yes, if they want to expand beyond "commercial local fleet" with it, they'll need to increase both battery capacity and charge rate.
DCFC are expensive to install en masse. My local Amazon yard has like 100 they charge every night. Amazon driver subreddit has a few "polls on how many miles you drive" and most "city routes" seem to average 50-100, most "suburban to borderline-rural" 100-200 per day. 11kW for 8 hours is more than enough for 200 miles per day of non-freeway driving.Interesting. Not the first…
