Kick Turn and RAD Tuner delayed for fine tuning. Launching by end of the year 2025

A Rivian spokesperson has told The Drive,

“We know many of you are eager to try out Kick Turn and RAD Tuner on the all-new Quad. These features are unlike anything on the road today, and we’re taking a little extra time to fine-tune their performance. That’s why we’re adjusting the launch for both features slightly from September, to now launching by the end of this year. We promise they’ll be worth the wait!”

Hopefully they really are worth the wait. They really need to justify the price of the Quad, since as of now, it's just 0.2-0.4s faster than a much cheaper tri.

Anyone actually surprised by this? Everything is always coming soon! Only people that will be mad are the handful of people who have the new Quad, the rest of us aren't missing anything since it doesn't apply to us.

After reading all the reports of software failures in the Gravity, I am glad Rivian is a little more cautious when releasing new features. This is especially important with software that controls the drivetrain. The last thing Rivian needs are injuries, property damage, or worse due to people using Kick Turn.

I leased the 2026 Quad R1T in August with the understanding that it came with KickTurn -- only to be told the sales team had bad info ... so the first quarter of my lease (at minimum) I won't be able to use the main reason I spent the extra money - the KickTurn. This is very frustrating but Rivian isn't doing anything to compensate for the loss of features on a 2 year lease.
