This past weekend, I took my 2026 Rivian R1T ( Dual Motor 259 mile range ) on an unforgettable off-road adventure—driving all the way down to the bottom of the Grand Canyon. The route itself was nothing short of awesome, but before you go, you’ll need to get the proper driving and camping permits from the Hualapai office in Peach Springs.
Coming from Scottsdale, AZ, I charged the R1T to full at Williams and had complete peace of mind—no range anxiety the entire trip. By the time I set up camp, I still had 132 miles of range left. On the way back out, I cruised through Kingman with 52 miles still on the battery. The Rivian handled the rugged terrain like a champ, combining capability, comfort, and confidence. For Rivian , this route was a piece of cake
If you love off-roading, remote campsites, and the thrill of seeing the Grand Canyon from its very floor, this trip is absolutely worth it. With the Rivian’s range and performance, you’ll enjoy every mile without worry. You will love it!
