He's not wrong at the end. I would love to do multi day off road trips in my rivian, which was why I originally preordered the then, 180kWh Quad motor 400 mile pack.

There are ways to combat the refueling of an EV off grid with a decent portable genset, ideally something that can output a steady 7kW+. But with the Scout range extender its the best of both worlds, EV when you want it, range when you need it.

One day, when I have more money than brains again, I'll consider going after a generator that fits those specs to take with me. Until then, I'll just stick to extended day/night trips

great video and love the trail!

was more than shocked to see the assortment of vehicles on it - have each of them on the property (modified JLU). even have the exact same tires on the PW.

headed out to some WV trails soon with friends and both R1Ss will stay home given the poor charging options...

Very nicely produced video. I was only going to watch for a few minutes and ended up watching almost the entire thing. While the Rivian did well, a better driver for it and tires would have gone a long way. Pretty impressive for what it is.

Great video. Beautiful shots of Colorado. I did part of that trail years ago in my CJ.

Yeah, I thought it was going to bite it on that tight downhill spot. Those Pirellis were terrible.

I love wheeling with and seeing others wheel with disparate rigs. Really boring when everyone has the same or similar rigs. Different vehicles have different capabilities and limitations and encourages learning and innovation.

Looks like beautiful scenery. I wouldn't mind trying something like that someday but the skill floor is probably high and I wouldn't want to do it in a Rivian with how expensive they are.

Wonder why they didn't air down the tires on the R1S? Probably would have helped the Pirellis a bit.

Nice content. I particularly like it with a real world comparison test. reasonable stock vehicles is a great way to see how these rigs function.

That looked EXCEPTIONALLY fun!
Man, I live in the wrong area of the country...

I do think the R1S would've appeared even more impressive if he would've aired down to the recommended 31 psi. The fact that they did that much rock crawling and didn't have a blowout with full inflation is pretty incredible, too.

He did air down to 31 psi - I read his comments on YT video

Great video - fun to watch from someone with zero skills in ORV'ing, though I would like to try some of that on a mountain bike. Also have a locomotive connection - the company that I work at rebuilds EMD engines and components.

Would've been nice to know SOC from the start to the end. I see that the guy had 20%-30% to charge to make it home. Great video!
