Ok who is good at Geometry? If we know that the angle is 3deg and if the height of the seat back is 22", how high would the top of the seat back be when folded down?

RJ just posted a video of the rear cargo area of the R1S on his Twitter account. It shows all 3 rows folded and he even lays all 6’2” of himself in it. Here is a pic from it. Glad too see it is a flat load floor!

Newbie here. Does anyone know how two row differs and what it looks like? How is additional space used? If you can put a full size spare in there? In other words what is the advantage of choosing a two row? Does anyone have photos of the space under the flat floor for both?

I appreciate any info you could share.

bringing this thread back to life hoping Rivian releases some more info on R1S and its specs. especially interior specs S00N

My suspicion is once a 2 row R1S is shown, it'll have a shallow storage cavity where the 3rd row typically goes. Just like the rear storage compartment, it'll make a flat surface when covered. That's how they do it in the Model Y and Model X. I don't expect the R1S to be any different.

Flipping the seats up is a pain in the butt. Our Audi Q7 does that and its difficult and frustrating for the kids.

There's an animation of the seats on the site now. I don't remember it being there before, but I grabbed some screenshots of the different "configurations" for the 7-seat model.

Good catch @Autolycus - I have been looking for the exact same to get a feel for how my dog's crate will fit in the back + other cargo. Though I am getting a 7 seat LE R1S, I intend to keep the third row folded down full time for the extra space. This also gives me a feel for how well my mountain bike will fit inside.

Not sure how much they are representative.
Also, this website refresh would have been a great occasion to show how the third row is accessed and occupants seated to give an idea of legroom. For me, its an non update.

Hopefully the video shared by RJ is more accurate than these "new" renders. What concerns me are the hinge housings for the 3rd row, especially the ones in the middle, as they appear to be slightly raised. Seems this could be problematic for sitting a dog crate in the cargo area. I still really hate that the 5-seat config isn't a LE option.

I think based on the floor mat design in the gear shop, the 3rd row is likely to have extremely limited legroom. I'm thinking those cutouts accommodate the mounts for the 2nd row, leaving about 1.3rd the legroom of the 2nd row.
