Screen mirror your iPhone to Rivian display - via Replica App

Hi Everyone,

After installing the new update, I was curious what I could do with my iPhone and Chromecast so I download an app from the store called Replica.

It works! I don't have Connect + either. You can see your entire phone screen on the vehicle's screen. I opened up Youtube, played a video and it worked great.

No controls on the screen, obviously; You have to use your phone.

That's it for my limited testing. Sorry, I don't have an extra phone to take photos of it.

I'm curious to see what others get into.

Or if you have an android you can just toggle the screen cast function that's built in. Works in portrait and landscape if you have auto rotate turned on. Landscape fills the whole screen.

I came across Replica too but haven’t tried it yet. I guess the advantage here is you can replicate anything from your phone and not be limited to which app is supported by Google Cast.

How was the quality?

You don't have Connect+ and this works? Is that just because everyone's on a free trial right now? Or do you expect that this will work forever?

Does it mirror sound too, or just the screen? Basically asking because watching an Apple TV+ program on the screen but using iPhone speaker kind of stinks. But would be great if actually mirrored sound too.

It does mirror sound but you have to turn the volume completely down on your phone or you'll hear them both.

I don’t think this works for Apple TV+ Or other apps (that don’t natively support google cast) using DRM to prevent screen capture unfortunately

I appreciate your taking the time to share a new way to use a recently added feature, especially during the busy holiday season.

Whether I end up personally using it or not I don't know, but now the idea is there so I'll be thinking of ways to do so and I'll reply if I come up with any good ones. I could certainly see the photo idea for when my little one is buckled in the car seat and we're making a quick stop on a road trip or something.
