Saw this Doug DeMuro video with one of the more detailed R2 walkthroughs.

I saw this and thought 'Maybe some good new information' but was disappointed there is nothing here but the same old story. I want to see someone drive it. I want to see some load the back of a R1S with the third row down but not the second and compare how much fits in the R2.

I would consider going from my R1 to a R2 but I need to feel the differences.

Seeing one in person it’s close to the size and interior volume of a Subaru forester.

It is nice to see that the rear seats do fold flat and that 95% of people could fit back there for sleeping while camping. I am less disappointed in Rivian for eliminating the front seat fold flat option. I imagine the front seats will fold past 45 degrees for when I have a long piece of cargo.

I enjoyed this too, paying particular attention to the power ports. It looks like there will be plenty of USB-C ports, but I only saw one 120VAC outlet and didn't see a single 12VDC outlet. It's not a show-stopper for me if they don't include 12VDC, but it's just so damn useful for accessories that you already own.

It will be very interesting to watch how they roll out the R2...I'm guessing the tri-motor will be first (highest margins and people buying it won't care about the $70-80K price tag), followed by the dual-motor ($60-70K) and finally the base at $45-50K). Please note - prices are my guesstimates only...I've not seen anything to substantiate them.

Like many of you, we have a reservation for a R2 and the dual-motor would probably be our preferred option, but if the tri is available first we'll be hard-pressed not to jump on it. Fun times ahead!

Awesome video. R2 or Traveler ... hmm. I am all-in for a dual or tri-motor R2 if they can hit 350 miles of range like the Scout. The range on my R1T Dual motor gen 1.5 is 352 and after owning several EVs, I find 350 is the Goldilocks range for road trips. I really hope Rivian gets this into the market quickly. (I hate that Rivian is not embracing a 800V system for this, though.)

I was very confused to start as my brain read "Sandy Munro" and Caffeine-Man started yelling.

Doors have buttons, but no handle ?

Same

I bet they have the emergency release (probably have to)
Just didn't show them like the snap-and-go rear bumper accessory ports (which I was hoping to see)

Keep in mind this is still the original demo build. I’m sure there will be many tweaks before production builds get started.

^ was going to post the exact thing.. this is a "one off" custom built vehicle which is not using production parts that the final production R2 will use.

I'd just look it as a "concept vehicle" at this point in it's development cycle and not look in to the fine grain details too much.
