I found RJ passionate, excited, enthusiastic and thoughtful (as always). I found the host a bit of a downer. Talking over him. Asking dumb questions. He should do more homework before he interviews guests.

My big takeaway was the discussion of the R3X being “much less expensive” than the R2. With gushing enthusiasm from RJ.

Good interview, but I do find the initial questions about Tesla and Elon Musk very dissatisfying. Fortunately RJ always take the broader point of view of the world and history.

What got me most excited from this interview was his enthusiasm and optimistic attitude of this "once in a planet" opportunity where we have energy, climate, and AI challenges all to overcome at the same time.

The challenge for Rivian is to stop selling pollution credits, er "regulatory credits" to every automobile manufacturer under the sun, allowing them to sell more gas guzzlers and delaying EV models from others. Negating any environmental benefit from buying a Rivian. RJ is selling out the planet for a pittance. Have some morals, man, it's just 30 pieces of silver.

If they must recover a drop in the bucket of their gigantic losses (-$22.561 billion retained earnings so far), at least offer them for purchase to Rivian customers. It's a form of carbon offset. I would gladly buy some and destroy them.

“Today, if you get into a Rivian and put it on the highway, it will drive itself on the highway. It can change lanes in the highway, but when you leave the highway, you retake control. What will happen for us is we'll continue to grow and expand the number of roads and the types of roads that the vehicle can operate on. ”

Let’s hope the road expansion will happen soon. This is one main reason to move me from getting a refreshed Model Y to a R1S. I really love to own R1S long term but don’t want to miss out the robust assisted driving features provided by basic/enhanced autopilot.
