Just swapped out the Scorps which like many complained about were noisier than a manhattan subway, for some new shoes. I had to order and pickup through Walmart as tire rack and discount were on back order. I did extensive research and after watching a video from riviantrackr i pulled the ripper on these bad boys. I brought the tires to Discount and you would have thought I brought in a stack of old Playboy mags. All the guys were drooling over these bc apparently all they are putting/ pushing are Toyo and Nitto and after reading the mixed reviews on both I just decided to go w something diff. Def a tad heavier but quieter - though it’s funny the suspension seems noisier over humps (creaking). Might be weight of tires I assume. Haven’t looked into too much range comparison just bc they are so new and don’t even have 100 miles on them but I’ll let you know. Have already received compliments on the looks of them though and that tread is deep!

Did you get the certificates as well? Not sure if they offer them on tires that weren’t purchased from them. Would be nice if they did.

Can’t wait to hear about your experience as you get some more miles on them. It’s between these and the Toyos for me. I’ll need to make my decision in about the next 3-5k miles.

I have them on my R1T now, I picked them up in early August. So far so good, my initial range was 3.6km/kWh which was better than my stock 20" Scorpions at 3.2-3.4. Overall though, their efficiency is around 5-10% less than stock. On road, they aren't quite as grippy as the scorpions were but are more than sufficient. Offroad is where they shine, more capable at maintaining traction on loose surfaces etc. Their puncture resistance was one of the main things I was after.

And here I am averaging a mere 2.2 on stock all-season 21s.

It's metric - MBD is in Canada
3.6km/kWh = 2.4miles/kWh
(unless of course you were just kidding around)

Ha! I wasn't paying attention to the units. I just naturally assumed miles when I read that quickly. Thanks for the clarification!

same here - I didn't catch it until I read your comment
2.4 is still really good
I've dropped to 2.14 on A/T 20's doing a lot of 70-75 mph on the highway

That's km/kWh...3.6 km/kWh translates to 2.24 mi/kWh. I accidentally reset my lifetime meter, but with the AT 20" Scorpions I've been averaging 2.33 mi/kWh in good weather and lower in winter (at 6000 ft).

I think a mistake we are all making in these "Tire A gets this, and Tire B gets that" efficiency battles is the vehicle over long periods like a week, month, or year on some Trip A/B readouts, is also including all vehicle losses while parked, or sitting stationary running HVAC as an example.

Because the vehicle is using the mi/kWh or km/kWh metric, it's dividing total energies used against your total mileage. Our efficiency 1 year ago, same tires is going to be different vs today due to better vehicle sleep behavior, software refinements in the name of efficiency etc.

So really, comparing two, 1 year old Rivian R1T's same tires, location, etc. one with 20,000miles, the other with 10,000, the one with 20,000 miles should have better overall efficiency.

100%. Ballpark unscientific comparisons. Take with dose of salt. Elevation play a role also.
