We picked up the R1T Dual Large 21” wheels

we also just finished building our trailer for camping. Not much consideration was done regarding weight.
?
This is our first trul
With the Rivian and trailer.
Lots of learning lessons.
We charge up the night before to 80%

We ended up stoping 2 times on the 192 mile trip. We wanted to end up at the camp ground with some extra charge

Trailer pulled great!!
But I couldn’t help but think I’d like to get a different setup ?.

Lighter tent on the bed of truck or trailer 4x4colorado or ikamper)
Kind of wonder what EV tires on the trailer would do to MPK and adding some aluminum bits.

Nice!

Don't be afraid to charge to 100% the night before. Time it so you reach 100% at about the time you expect to leave. No sense in spending extra time charging along the way when you can get that extra 20% overnight while you sleep. You're not going to hurt the battery, just don't let it sit around at 100% for days on end.

I have an iKamper on top of my R1T bed. Love it. I thought about getting a little trailer like you have, but honestly we don't set up and stay at campgrounds for an extended period of time. For us it's usually an overnight stop. Because of that, it would be far less convenient for us to haul around a trailer.

I get about 2.1 kWh/mile with the iKamper on the bed, which is only about a 5-10% range penalty. And if you get a camp site with a hookup, you can have a full charger or mostly full charge by the time you leave, and with a hookup you won't have to spend time waiting for a charge and the extra cost is only a fraction of what a charger would cost you.

Does that tent not fit over the bed?

Like many others, I put my RTT over the bed and have plenty of room in it, but I also have PTC and always keep it closed. Some folks use racks to raise the RTT if you need more room in the bed or want to mount things to the side.

The only reason I consider a trailer of any sort is the "annoyance" of packing up camp if we are staying multi-day and want to drive somewhere, which has only happened once and was incredibly easy. We ended up not going back there anyway to avoid a storm... Just to get dumped on later that night somewhere else.

I just got a RTT (iKamper Skycamp Mini 3.0)…the setup is literally a minute. My only irritation is that I have no rearview mirror with the RTT. Has anyone thought about a digital rear view mirror? I don’t like the idea of looking down at my screen while I’m driving to see what’s behind me.
