Is anyone else seeing issues with their tailgate and gear tunnel access from the app after this update?
I had that happen after the .27 update and it went away on its own by the next morning or so—I don’t think I even did a reset.

Updated. Few takeaways:
1. I like the updated Nav search.
2. Auto AC control is better than before, and cools quickly. It gets cold fast. However, I’ve noticed Auto turns on my leg and windshields when that’s not my preference. Does it by itself when I enter the car.
3. Auto suspension turns on automatically when I enter the car, which wasn’t happening before as I usually turn auto off.
4. Orange & purple are my favorite colors!

Battery and suspension resetting? Is this in another thread?

edit: i see the resetting suspension to auto thread, sorry. Looks like reset fixes it though.
Reset unfortunately doesn't fix it. It happens occasionally. I'm pretty sure changing your ride height manually mid-drive is what causes it. As soon as you park or shift into reverse/drive it enables auto once again. Definitely a bug and not just an artifact from installing.

Didn’t see this one posted, but drove to the airport to get my wife and saw the truck height was on low and set to auto. I always drive in standard height unless on a road trip. I parked in the cell phone lot and noticed it went back to auto and driving home it did it again. I hope this was just a onetime fluke or it may be something they need to fix.
Not a fluke, this has happened to me multiple times today. The vehicle seems to enable auto suspension mode whenever you shift into drive/reverse/park after adjusting the ride height mid-drive. I tend to cycle my suspension from standard to high to low back to standard whenever I hear front suspension rattles, and after doing that and finishing my drive, the auto suspension bug occurs.

Curious, does cycling the height reduce your suspension noises?

It does temporarily, yes. I've noticed when I start a drive, the suspension will clunk a bit over potholes and leaving the driveway. Cycling high-low-standard seems to make the car more settled and quieter. I'm sure there's an issue with my front left suspension but it's been that way since new and I can't be bothered to take it in for another month of driving around in a shitty rubicon.

Qualitatively the car seems to sleep more now. Unlocking takes a little longer sometimes but I'll take that over more drain for sure.

It's been insanely hot in Los Angeles 109F (unless you are RJ enjoying 85 in Laguna) but the AC has been keeping up no problem. Kudos to Rivian as I took down my roof shade on the weekend thinking we were done with heat while I was also 7000ft... That was a shock coming home.

I know this isn't on the update, but my pedal sensitivity in reverse seems to be quite a bit greater than before. This is both our R1T and R1S vehicles. It was so noticable backing out of the garage, I stopped. Put it in park, then reverse and thought it was quite a bit more sensitive, which I prefer. The dead pedal in reverse always bothered me. Who knows.

After the previous update, I would get random AC turn-offs for a minute or two, which obviously is very noticeable in the desert. This was on both vehicles, so I inititated the save feature when it happened for diagnostics. It must be an issue as Rivian field support is coming next week to look at both vehicles.

The auto height adjustment 'bug' (is it a bug?), hasn't been resolved for me even after hard reset.

The auto suspension height bug is annoying. I reported it already in the app.

I do like the new optional auto fan speeds. Even medium blows more air and that was my main complaint that the prior full auto had so little air blowing out. I’ll get carsick if there’s not enough air blowing out.

I'm sure that 2024.31.01 fixes all of the parasitic drain issues that 2024.27.01 introduced . . .
While this was a feeble attempt at humor, it may be accurate.

My VD increased quite dramatically with the .27 update, and was always over 2%, with an occasional foray to 4%. It's only been about two days since I installed 2024.31.01, but things now seem to be back down in the 1% to 2% range. Looks like a few other folks are also seeing the same thing.

Wonder if this was something deliberate in the update or just a beneficial unintended consequence.

I seem to be in the maps blacked out camp. Initially resolved with reset, but its back.

Apple music seems better as well.

Yep, had the same map blackout issue. Also, the drive cam is very inconsistent and needs reset to start working again. 5 soft resets yesterday to make it all work.

I have no idea how Rivians's QA is working - but it seems their developers and testing teams need to learn a thing or two.

I would expect Rivian to monitor all these soft / hard resets and approach to drivers proactively and see what are the problems. But, wishful thinking. I look at all these influence youtubers - not a single word about the software glitches when they show how great is new update.

I started to appreciate my X5 45E software again - one OTA per year, but everything works.
