Looking at his resume, he was at Tesla for 4.5 years and got promoted multiple times to group manager, worked on a lot more than just cybertruck. Seems like a great addition to the team.

The Cybertruck is tooling up. They must have parts on order and have all the agreements in place to deliver them for the next several years. With that feather in his cap, he probably could do pretty well to move on while the experience is hot. Perhaps he was bored.
