  1. ALSO, an electric bike and transportation startup, has reached a $1 billion valuation in a new funding round

Apologies - I saw it behind a paywall on Bloomberg, so didn't post the link...but here's a WSJ link, for those that can access...
  2. ALSO, an electric bike and transportation startup, has reached a $1 billion valuation in a new funding round

Also, an electric bike and transportation startup, has reached a $1 billion valuation in a new funding round and has struck a partnership with DoorDash to work on autonomous deliveries. The financing brought in $200 million for Also and was led by existing investor Greenoaks Capital, with other...
  3. Toll Transponder Positioning

I just installed a Massachusetts sticker yesterday. I put it to the right of the mirror vertically just next to the dots on the windshield. The goal was for it not to be visible from the driver’s seat. I will report back on how well it registers tolls.
  4. Wall charger wire gauge question

I'm pretty sure it's THHN in conduit, but would stress that I would be very happy to have 20% faster as cost is not a consideration in this specific case. Thanks
  5. Wall charger wire gauge question

Update: I was given a more accurate measurement and it’s actually 130 feet. I suspect the answer is still to go with 6 awg, but thought I would ask the experts here to be sure. Thanks!
  6. Wall charger wire gauge question

Thanks for the response - I'm only trying to maximize charging speed and not worrying about cost. Correct me if I'm wrong, but this would not allow charging at the full capability.
  7. Wall charger wire gauge question

I'm having a Rivian Wall Charger installed in the garage of a high rise apartment building. It's quite a long run and the electrician wants to run copper 4 awg wire to reduce voltage drop. Question - will he have to drop it down to 6 awg near the charger in order to fit the terminals of the...
  8. Which R2 Color Will You Choose?

Half Moon Grey seems a good bit lighter than El Cap. Would love to see a real-life picture of both side by side
  9. Has Rivian Rolled Out a New Phone Charger?

I had the StowNCharge on my Launch Edition and just installed the SoonishEV Topocharge in my new 2026 Quad - Highly recommend both...work great and install was pretty easy - Rivian took my trade in with the StowNCharge without question.
  10. Employees receiving R2 first. Does this forum have any Rivian employees? Will/Can they answer questions?

I would guess they have to sign a non-disclosure agreement to get a car. Not worth risking their jobs to post in an enthusiast forum. s00n
  11. R2 Executive Interviews - Software, Future, Design: RJ Scaringe, Wassym Bensaid, Jeff Hammoud (by Out of Spec Kyle)

Think you will miss a lot of context during the Hammoud portion, as he walks around the vehicle and explains various design elements. I think the Scaringe part at the end would be fine audio-only.
  12. R2 Executive Interviews - Software, Future, Design: RJ Scaringe, Wassym Bensaid, Jeff Hammoud (by Out of Spec Kyle)

thought this interview he did a good job of letting the executives lead the conversation and there was 60 minutes of good content
  13. R2 Executive Interviews - Software, Future, Design: RJ Scaringe, Wassym Bensaid, Jeff Hammoud (by Out of Spec Kyle)

Finished the whole interview - excellent throughout...learned a lot that wasn't in other coverage of the event. Maybe the most interesting was RJ's comment that LIDAR will initially mostly benefit data collection and that it will even provide benefits to gen 2 R1S. I wonder if that will impact...
  14. RJ Selling Rivian Stock

You can have a lot of wealth tied up in your company holdings, but the IRS wants to be paid in cash. Occasional liquidity needs, often to pay taxes, are normal and don’t necessarily signal an opinion on the company’s prospects.
  15. RJ Selling Rivian Stock

These are very small amounts in light of his ownership % and options (dependent on milestones). Sales were executed under a Rule 10b5-1 trading plan and are common for executives to manage liquidity/taxes. As others have pointed out, he also went through a divorce. I would suggest next time...
