ALL 4 SOLD
I have 2 of the 20" Dark Wheels that are scratched. (Other 2 have been sold)
Wheels are true. These are cosmetic scratches no issues with bending or balancing.
Located in SoCal area.
Pic #3 mostly along the outer rim. Similar to curb rash. Lighter scratches. $500 SOLD! (+$40...
I have 4 dark spares no tires and no tpms in my shop. 2 are scratched though. I'm in SoCal. Scratched ones can be discounted. What's your offer on 2 good ones, or 2 scratched ones?
I just got new wheels so I won't be need them anymore
The very next day from receiving my R1T we went on a 1,000 mile round trip with about 80 miles of offroad. Like you, I didn't just have range anxiety, I had EV anxiety as a whole since it was our first full EV vehicle. Fellow R1T owner gave me the best advice about downloading and signing up for...
Based on where he got his BS of Automotive Design (I went to the same school) it is no surprise that they use this program at Rivian. Autodesk Alias is pretty much the industry standard in the Automotive Design industry. Honestly I think Automotive Designers are the only people that use it...
I have not tried two footing in the Rivian enough to determine whether it's useful. There's a couple more things we'd like to try on the rollers and this would definitely be interesting.
That's great real world feedback. One essential technique in rock crawling and offroading in general is...
Front wheel drive on the Quad motor makes the steering wheel feel heavier and slightly more jittery on the highway. I wonder if that will be how the dual motor will feel on All Purpose since it will be majority FWD.
I may have a bit over the top with the description but it was to help visualize the scenario. There are plenty of example online showing wheels spinning in the air (perhaps not as uncontrollably as I described). However, my point is, it is unnecessary and it makes the vehicle harder to drive...
Yes, but the problem isn't only about recognizing the need to apply more throttle.
With the rear locker you see the Tunrda easily roll off the rollers with almost zero wheel spin. It's controlled and elegant. Let's transport this scenario to a trail where the Rivian and Toyota with a rear...
In the video it is very obvious that they need to add a virtual locker. As of right now I think any vehicle with a rear locker will easily out crawl the Rivian. It's extra frustrating knowing the hardware is there to easily do it, but they just haven't.
Thank you! I am currently editing the video so hopefully I can get it out this week.
Rivian's capabilities attracts overland and offroad enthusiasts but I am guessing it is still a very small percentage of owners. I hope people find this information useful to avoid being embarrased while...
We do have 4 rollers. Would be interesting to see. We aren't too sure how the vehicle will react if all 4 wheels are spinning and it's not actually moving. Similar to the issues with the attempted dyno runs being limited. Would be fun to try though!
We are definitely excited to do this comparison. We are located in southern California so I'm hoping we can more easily find a volunteer.
In low speeds if Rivian is using braking to control traction on the dual motors it will probably be a similar outcome. Where the quad motor shines would be...
Yes! I have a video where we were offroading and the R1T was stuck. It was irritating that the front driver wheel which had the most traction wasn't spinning at all! Now I know how I could've easily overcame that obstacle. Basically I should have pressed the throttle very quickly.
INTRO
We made our own rollers to unmask some of the mysteries of Rivian's 4x4 traction control system and we uncovered some interesting finds. There is far too much info to type on this thread so I will give notes on the most difficult scenario. 3 wheels on rollers one wheel on ground. Which...
This was a great video. Thank you for putting it together. I can definitely agree that this truck has exceptional handling offroad and I can't wait to take it on a track like that.
Disappointing. Everything on this truck is designed well and really takes ease of use into mind... except for the manual tonneau cover. The manual cover looks extremely inconvenient to use. When something is not easy to use you most likely don't use it. I guess I will have to look for...
This thread is hilarious both in what the cybertruck has turned out to be and how Rivian owners are responding.
It is very easy to poke fun at Elon for all of his broken promises, but I respect his mentality. Shoot for the stars and maybe land on mars.
Yes I can definitely agree with this. If I am being honest I was not expecting my warranty claim to go as smoothly as it did. I was ready for a long chain of upset emails and wasted time on phone calls, but to my pleasant surprise it went smoothly and exceeded my expectations just as the...
Ironically after all the things we've talked about in this thread, I think using Rally mode on high grip road surfaces or On Road would actually void any warranty claims dealing with cv axles or excessive tire wear. I would definitely not suggest using Rally mode unless you're actually offroading.
