  1. Story: Introducing Rivian Assistant & Rivian Unified Intelligence. Unlock hands-free utility with Connect+

This is a big deal… “Because the assistant is connected directly to your vehicle's systems, it gives you direct control over hardware that other assistants cannot reach.” - Tesla’s Grok in the car is not connected to the car’s controls. It is a generic LLM. Rivian made it ahead of Tesla to...
  2. Friend bought ModelY after keeping R1S for a day, and after learning about R2

exact same experience for me on our ‘16 MS, ‘18M3 and ‘22MY. On all of them, I switched to their base wheel set (smaller wheels with larger sidewall tires) and returned to much quieter, supple rides…will never go to their “sport” wheels - the car is already sprung as a track car in my opinion.
  3. Friend bought ModelY after keeping R1S for a day, and after learning about R2

I am with you on that - our 22 MY came home from factory without suspension I think. 😳 the only thought I have on your ‘26 R1S test ride is whether the suspension setting was not “standard” but in high, or driving mode was all-terrain (sets suspension highest) when you test drove…the “sport”...
  4. Friend bought ModelY after keeping R1S for a day, and after learning about R2

Thanks. That's unfortunate that Gen2 R1S still rides differently than R1T.
  5. Friend bought ModelY after keeping R1S for a day, and after learning about R2

Was your R1S a Gen1 or Gen2? Gen1 R1S was not well tuned - it was taken from R1T but with almost 11inch shorter length/diff wheelbase, they didn't really adjust for that in their suspension/stability/dynamics engineering. They took time and fixed this with Gen2 R1S...(as well as some late Gen1...
  6. 5 tire rotation - still a good idea?

I have the popular 1EV/RMAXX boards and Rivian service centers are fine operating with them on. The AT center close to my office - didn't even try to see if their jacks would fit. I think they were sued earlier by some Rivian owner (perhaps more than one) for mishandling (vehicle slid off and...
  7. Friend bought ModelY after keeping R1S for a day, and after learning about R2

You won't :). Someone with both brands: - range - is much more trustworthy on the Rivian. Tesla range drops dramatically as you drive. first year overall range drop is ~ 3%-5% on Teslas (we have had 3) and then it settles down. R1T - 0 % drop after1yr/20K miles. Rivian has more headroom with...
  8. 5 tire rotation - still a good idea?

DT (American Tire this side of Rockies) is refusing to service tires with the running boards on. Rivian doesn't have issues...I had to remove them (8 bolts on each side) for new tire install this time at AT. While they can do 5-tire rotation, not sure I will be able to remove and reattach the...
  9. Friend bought ModelY after keeping R1S for a day, and after learning about R2

We have both Teslas (M3, MY, had MS before - and love them) and a R1T Gen2 (love it). Our family friends have only Teslas (M3 and MX). Their kids are blown away with R1's looks, presence. They bought a R1S for one day but returned it next day and immediately purchased and picked up a MY. Their...

Updated info (from swap to sale), new pictures and added price.
  12. 5 tire rotation - still a good idea?

Slightly tangential: American Tires (DT owned) will not lift my rivian with the running boards on. I just bought new GoodYear Territory AT from them. It will be crazy to remove the boards every 5K miles (those RTMaxx boards are heavy) for rotation. Rivian Service Centers have had no issues...
  13. 5 tire rotation - still a good idea?

great tip!! Buying the $70 tire harness now... https://gearshop.rivian.com/products/tire-lift-harness?pr_prod_strat=e5_desc&pr_rec_id=c96b92c51&pr_rec_pid=8650544119970&pr_ref_pid=8720753492130&pr_seq=uniform
  14. 5 tire rotation - still a good idea?

I have searched a bit and with many pages to look for, wasn't getting to the point. So pinging the community for latest advice on rotations? I am putting 5 new tires (for spare as well). Wondering if I should do the 5-tire rotation policy, or 4-tire (most common) and leave the spare in the...

  16. Motorcycle Hauling Trip with R1T -- Good news for the bike folks!

Awesome! Thank you! When unloading at the destinations, you would need to find a driveway or similar…has that been a problem in the past?
  17. Motorcycle Hauling Trip with R1T -- Good news for the bike folks!

how do you roll up (& down) the big GSA? I have a regular GS and I will sweat before considering putting that one up on the bed. I could manage 2 x KTM 350s no issues, but they are 250lb a piece, vs 530lb on the GS and for your GSA you are talking about 620lbs I think :)
  18. R1T Bike Transport - Range Impacts

just posted here with some details: https://www.rivianforums.com/forum/threads/motorcycle-hauling-trip-with-r1t-good-news-for-the-bike-folks.10362/post-985155
  19. Motorcycle Hauling Trip with R1T -- Good news for the bike folks!

went on a 800mile trip over 3-days from Bay Area to LonePine/RidgeCrest desert riding on my Gen2 R1T with Max Pack dual-motor and Range wheels + all-season tires: averaged 1.9miles/kw, highways speeds +9 (so regular driving behavior, nothing diff for the bikes on bed). Normally I would have got...
  20. TMAT R1T trunk bed organizer - any experiences?

Yes I have their gear tunnel kitchen and love them! The trunk slider is $1700, 4X these mats. I know they are small business (been to their shop for fitting the kitchen) and we should support them (they are awesome) and other small businesses innovating on top of our beloved platforms...but the...
