100% a thing. As soon as you notice it, you won't be able to stop noticing it clunking. For me, it was exceptionally noticeable when coming to a bottom of a hill and starting to accelerate up the other side. 100% clunk, 100% of the time, and it seemed to get worse the longer I owned the truck...
This is a really good point, especially considering how they have a competing product already. I've used it in my Silverado and it's pretty good.
Here is an overly long, rambly video about it:
I've felt since the beginning the the nav portion of the system was always a bit of a weak point. Directions weren't quite right. Traffic data was unreliable at times. The inability to click on POIs was a letdown.
We'll know for sure when the rubber hits the road, but this move to Google Maps...
I'll give on that - it's perhaps a bit harsh.
I feel like I need to note that it was marketed, until just recently, solely on performance characteristics.
Witnessing it outperformed over quarter mile by the Dream Edition Gravity, and knowing the Plaid would outperform it by well over a second...
That's my big take away as well.
I understand halo products struggle to present value - they are more visceral in nature. This has the price tag to qualify it as a halo car, but it's missing the thing that causes the emotional 'I need it' response.
I think that's because I expected more. Much...
FWIW - it was really game changing going to a more competent ADAS system for me. I predominately drive my Silverado around now, and it really points out just how middling the Rivian Driver+ system is. From everything I've seen, this is way better too.
Way more miles with way less babysitting...
I'm curious if these are limited to 300kw (due to the cable or something) or will really flex for high voltage cars. Will the Gravity be able to hit ~400kw and will the Silverado EV Max be able to hit over 360kw?
I'll find out on the latter in August...
I have it enabled in my Silverado EV, but I'm kind of in the same boat. I also wish that it was more navigation aware too -- it frequently tries to pass when the exit is 1/2 mile a way or whatever.
That said, I think that SuperCruise is excellent overall. I recently drove for about an hour to a...
Reviving a dead thread here, but I've been working on adapting this to the Silverado & Sierra EV, and have updated my Rivian version with all of the changes from that as well. If someone with a 3D printer is willing to test, please PM me. I'll send over the STL file. Assuming it's spaced right...
