My guess is that the demographic that follows Cramer is the same primary demographic that buys Rivian’s —50+ age caucasians. Every Rivian meetup I’ve attended (in a couple states), 80% fall into this category.
I saw 3 of them on a car hauler in Sandy, OR around December 30. Couldn’t get a photo as I was driving the other direction. I’d assumed they’d started public sales.
Looks great! I’m sure this will be one of the future changes we see to the R1 during a midcycle refresh, it’s a pretty common evolution among automakers.
I miss the “grandpa” tailgate step from my F150. Hopefully this option becomes available in the future.
Nice work, I’m looking forward to seeing how it turns out.
I’m still interested in doing a straight swap and could meet as soon as next Saturday. Wheels are off the truck because I’m running a winter set and there’s no need for recalibrating my system.
As time goes on I’m becoming less optimistic that V2H is happening. Here’s why: how do you reconcile battery power backup with a federally mandated vehicle battery warranty of 8 years/100k miles? If I’m a manufacturer I don’t want my batteries needlessly cycling running a household when I’m on...
I’ve got a set of 21” wheels and tires, 4500 miles on them. No curb rash, great condition. Located in Bend, OR but willing to meet halfway in Northern California.
I just had the front air bags/struts replaced on mine due to leaks after 7000 miles (at >9k now, had the ticket in for a while). Replacement of both sides was 5.7 hours at $400/hr (WOW!), so $2300 in labor if not covered under warranty. There was no information on the cost of the struts, but...
This is most likely drive fluid. The drive oil is yellowish-green. I had fluid dripping onto my lower pan from the same point on the drive unit. SC got me in within a week and they found a bad output shaft seal, which they replaced along with the drive unit oil.
The only frustrating experience...
+1. This is what I did. It also means I can use one of my 21” wheels as a spare for the 20” set, and vice versa. Range with the 275/60r20 is better than 275/65r20, too.
Maybe this will be of help: Rivian uses an AMK compressor. I believe it is this model line: https://amk-group.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/11/AMK-FactSheet-LFK-12-21.pdf
I’ve not had luck getting further information on the compressor, but I expect the dryer to be user serviceable though it could...
I used to get these updates almost immediately upon their roll out, including the infamous 2023.42 update that bricked the infotainment. I have yet to receive this one, though.
I assume the contract correctly states $.30/mi over? The website says ¢.30/mi which is a pretty significant error, probably made by a dev whereas the contracts should have been originally reviewed by financiers and less likely to have such an error.
